Rory | Carter’s meeting [Carter/Adara/Daoi/Myoko]

Carter Roth

There was a meeting occurring, a meeting of minds, a social gathering to say hello. More importantly it was a meeting of garou and kin, and this meant that some degree of privacy would be required, some degree of secrecy. Carter for once was the set up man, giving different people an address, and a time to meet. He was downright sociable with his preparations.

When they arrive they find themselves in a small studio space, one could wonder if it was designed to be an apartment, a work space, or something designed specifically for gatherings. The space itself was largely empty, high ceilings lifted far above their heads and track lighting suspended down from the darkness. The room had been sparsely furnished, a couple couches, two chairs, a coffee table and a bank table with some sandwiches from subway, along wiht water and…of course, coffee and tea. In one corner sat a desk with a computer connection and a telephone…beyond that..well that seemed to be the space.

Carter was waiting within, lounging about on one of the couches as people began to arrive, not that he expected a great number of individuals, the meeting was downright tiny…but there he was none the less, a green dress shirt over a pair of dark jeans and his dreadlocks held back by that bone clasp…the man was downright spiffy…at least for him.

Daoi Gladecu

*Daoi arrived.  The door opened and she limped in.  Step tap drag, Step tap drag..the ebony cane with the snarling gold wolf’s head was held tightly in her hand.  She was dressed in a neat black dress, that seemed to move around her with every step, with a mind of it own.  Storm eyes look out from a scared face that cut one eyebrow in two, and made an eye lid drop.  The scares ran from hair line to disappear benighted her dress.  To the skilled eye they were claw marks.  Her lips gave a lop sided greeting*

Carter…

*Her eyes looked over the place*

Yours I take it?

Carter Roth

The first to arrive was the Doc, and Carter had to admit he was surprised, he wondered how far in advance she had to get ready to get here on time…but in truth he already knew, it was just a common thought. He pushed himself up from the couch and stretched lightly, small pops and cracks emitted from his frame as he did so before the man shook his head and grinned at the woman.

“Nah, not my place at all actually.” He said looking around. “Its a rent a space…this company i found basically will furnish a room with what you want, and charge hourly for it.” He said shrugging as he stepped up to her. “Just seemed like a good move, what with Garou meeting and nowhere really being safe.”

Myoko Kimura

Although she was there early, neither would be aware of it. It’s not because she’s hiding behind the thick Gauntlet membrane, or sheilded by some Gift and standing silently in the corner, but the Garou had arrived early only because she allowed herself some extra time to navigate through the unknown streets of the new city, and she sat in the car parked further down the street and waited for the time to tick closer to that which had been given.

When her watch ticks over to five minutes until, Myoko gets out of the car and shuts it behind her. The car locks by remote as she walks away from it and up the steep sidewalk towards the apartment number. In black linen pants, soft leather loafers, and a buttoned down blouse, the small Asian woman is neatly dressed. Her dark hair is bound back, curled and looped into a bun fitted with faintly decorated hair-sticks, that expertly keep the gloss of hair tucked that way.

She knocks and waits, throwing a brief glance towards the road.

Daoi Gladecu

*Daoi raises a brow and moves out of Carter’s way so he could answer the door.  She limps over and takes a seat carefully*

Your body is sounding old.

*She chuckles softly*

I have something for your joints.  I’ll make sure to have it the next time we meet.  Should make them pop less in about a month.

*Garou, intresting.  She had not expected to meet them just yet.  She had met with Jael, that had been plesent.  But she supposed like Carter, it was time to meet others…wait…Carter…and Garou? FUCK!*

Carter Roth

The door knocked and Carter had a feeling he knew who it was. He watched as Daoi limped over to take a seat and he shook his head. “I think its all this fucking moisture, I’m used to dry heat, not all this wet.” He said as he turned towards the door and strode towards it. The man didn’t seem worried, didn’t seem agitated, and this was with garou involved….such strange days they lived in.

He reached the door and after checking the peep hole he grinned to himself and pulled the door open. “Myoko, hows it going?” He asks as he stepped to the side, allowing the woman entry into the space.

“Before you ask, no I don’t own it. Rented it for this little get together, sandwiches on that table if you want something.” He says as he waits for her to enter, and then closes the door behind her.

He then gestured to Daoi who sat gracefully upon her seat and spoke. “Myoko, meet Daoi. Daoi…likewise.”

Myoko Kimura

“Well, thank you.” From the voice, Daoi can assume that Myoko is American. It’s not until she walks in the door that throws that idea out the window. Having stepped inside, she paused not far from the door, waiting on the Kinfolk to close it, and only then moved further into the room as she’s introduced.

Daoi gets a quick look over by dark eyes, and recieves a small nod in greeting. “Daoi, it is good to meet you.” She does not look away immediately, but takes in the scars and the breeding that is obvious. The combined Breeding in the room makes her more aware, sharpening other senses.

Daoi Gladecu

Miss Myoko….

*Daoi greets her as she stands up slowly, her own joints creaking.  She nods her head to the woman.  Feeling just the tickle of rage dance around her soul.  She leans against her cane, her knuckles white as she puts her weight into her hand.  Her voice was soft yet easily heard with a bit of a Romanian accent.  Sharp grey eyes look over her.  Though not aggressively, more out of curiosity.  Daoi looked back at Carter and raised her good brow at him as if to say….OMFG you haven’t pissed off all the garou yet.  I don’t know if I should congratulate you or not say anything.*

Myoko Kimura

“Kimura,” the Japanese woman offers. She is a most unexpected Garou, Shadow Lord particularly, with her height being no more than five foot and three inches. Myoko is pretty faced, deceptively small looking, which is all contributed to her heritage. The idea that this woman could shift into a monster, a creature of war, is almost ludicrous. Until one looks into the eyes and see’s that it’s not only potential, but fact.

Carter Roth

Carter watched, curious of course how the two women would react to each other. He hadn’t had time to tell Daoi alot about what had been going on in the city since his arrival. He had been learning, and teaching….he was also devising new plans as well.

For his part Carter moved towards the table and grabbed one of the small subs from the platter that had been laid out and took a bite, he did not speak until he had finished the bite.

“The Doc and I go back a good ways.” He says as he steps back towards the pair. “Since i pretty much arrived in Chicago, helped me through alot of shit, I like to think I did the same.” He says with a smirk towards Daoi. “Smartest person I know…plain fact.” He says as he leans up against one of the couch arms.

Daoi Gladecu

He lies about the smartest person part, but Mr. Roth can be forgiven.

*She winks at him and carefully slides back into her seat.  For a moment her family ring catches the light.  It was a large gold ring, most likely made for a man, of a wolf with two tongues.*

Who else will be joining us?

*She asks Carter curiously*

Myoko Kimura

Her smile is small as the two banter. “All doctors must have some intelligence, ” she adds, politely. Then as Daoi refers to Carter, she takes a moment to look away from them both and over the room. The furnishings, studio decor, windows and anything else of interest is noted. She does not go and help herself to the food or beverages, and remains standing off to the side rather instead of taking up a chair.

Carter Roth

Carter raised a brow to Myoko as she remained standing just off to the side, a look of question as to why the woman was doing so, of course he doesn’t voice it at this moment, he figured the woman had her reasons. He turned then to Daoi once more and counted off four fingers before holding up two of them.

“Were waiting on two more…maybe. Your finally gonna get the chance to meet Adara.” He says with a gentle nod as he looked over his sandwich. “I figure it was a good time you know? That and well…Myoko was interested in meeting my friends…so here we are like a great big AA meeting.”

Daoi Gladecu

*She laughs*

I’m no…ok maybe sometimes.

*She then turns her eyes to Myoko and says gently*

Miss Kimura, there’s no reason for you to stand, please sit make yourself comfortable.  It seems he’s bringing his most chatty friends.  Our meeting may take a while.

Myoko Kimura

Now that she’s been invited to sit, she nods a silent thank you to Daoi and moves across the room to take up to take a seat. She leaves the couches for those that may already know each other, and eases into a chair.

“Carter mentioned that he has known you for some time, Daoi,” the Shadow Lord speaks up in a break of conversation. “And that you both have come from Chicago. Why is that you moved to San Francisco?” Her gaze drifts from Daoi to Carter and back again, interested.

Adara Mires

Carter had invited her to meet his the woman who would be his warder and she had accepted. The invitation had been extended to Rory as well and she arrived with her pack mate to the address Carter had given them. She smiles to Rory and then knock on the door.

Today, the slim Fury was dressed in a pair of dark jeans, running shoes, a black and green three quarter sleeve shirt that showed part of the tribal style tattoo on her left arm and back hand. Her long dark hair was tied in a ponytail, a lock falling over her left eye.

She look at her friend as she wait for the door to open “Well, hope you’re ready to say hi to the Lords” Shesays with a small smile.

Daoi Gladecu

*She considers Myoko’s question and taps her fingers over the head of her cane*

I was offered a new position here.  I would have easier access to test subjects, as well as grants.  Miss Kimura I study the famori condition and try to make things that can counter their poisons and taints.  I even label them and offer suggestions on how to properly identify one, as well as what works best against them, so that kinfolk can work with greater effectiveness on the battle field.  I still work on occasion with the Black Eagles.

Rory

She’s nervous. She doesn’t like Shadow Lords – well, except for Ray, but he was different than any she’d known before. Lukas left a bad taste in her mouth, one she could not wash away… so to say she isn’t ready… well. It’s not an understatement.

But for Adara, she offers a little smile, before she chews on her lower lip, absently, and waits for the door to open. She is as she so often is – Jeans, a t-shirt, tennis shoes, and that backpack on her back. It’s lighter now, as she’s finally got a  place to keep most of her things, but she feels naked without it… so it comes along.

Green eyes, blood-red curls, and more freckles than anyone can count spread across pale, pale skin – there’s little doubt what Tribe lays claim to the mule… little doubt at all.

But she’s here – she liked Carter well enough, and since he’d taken the time to invite her, she’s taken the time to come. Nervously, at best.

Carter Roth

Daoi and Myoko were talking, good this was going well, so far no pissing contests, no arguments or cold stares the kinsman smiled at this. Of course he knew to expect nothing less from Daoi, and he was certain that Myoko was nothing if not careful with her discussions…but one never did know.

The knock at the door signalled the arrival of the last of his ‘guests’ and Carter pushed off the chair as the pair of them continued to chat. There was talk of Daoi’s work, and if nothing that would surely peek Myoko’s interest.

Stepping up to the door he pulled it open and grinned at Adara before nodding with the same grin to Rory. “Adara, Rory, good to see ya, come on in, get comfy, sandwiches on the table an all that.” He says as once more he stepped aside and gestured to the others already present.

“Alright so, that is Daoi.” He said pointing to the woman with the cane. “And this is Myoko.” He said in regards to the smartly dressed asian woman. “Daoi, Myoko, this is Rory, and Adara.” He said gesturing to each in turn.

“Lets keep it clean, and nothing below the belt alright?” The grin becoming downright mischevious as he closed the door behind them.

Myoko Kimura

“Are you a Theurge?” This is the first reaction from the Shadow Lord to Daoi’s claim. If she had heard of Daoi up until this point, it doesn’t show in her expression nor tone.

The knock at the door momentarily distracts her from the conversation at hand, and she looks from Daoi to follow Carters progress to the door. She’s standing before she knows it, perhaps out of respect of greeting new guests, or a more instinctual gesture.

Adara and Rory enter. One looks younger then the other, and Rory’s bright, curly hair is a feature that draws attention. Myoko watches them come into the studio apartment, and nods politely when introduced. She’s dressed in linen black pants, soft soled leather loafers and a buttoned down, short sleeved blouse. Her hair is up, bunned, and held in place by two decorative hair-sticks.

Adara Mires

She smiles to Carter, passing an arm around his neck and kissing his cheek once “Hello handsome” She says with a little smile. She steps deeper inside, offering a smile to Daoi “Evening Doctor, it’s good to see you again.” She tells the kin, with a light friendly touch on the arm. She turn her emerald gaze to Myoko “Good evening Myoko. It’s a pleasure to meet you” She tells the other Galliard with a polite nod of her head,

She tilt her head at Carter “Party pooper.” She grins slightly and move to find a place to sit.

Rory

She snaps a look to Carter as he suggests they keep it clean, worry dancing clearly through her gaze, until she sees that grin, and that he’s teasing them. She relaxes, a fraction, then. and rubs at the side of her nose, absently. She stops the minute she realizes she’s doing so, and then tucks pale, slender, fragile looking hands into the pockets of her jeans.

Here, this close, especially to these that know, her rage swallows the air in the room. She has far more than one would think, directly at odds with how very achingly shy she is. She manages to nod to the other women, but it’s no mistake she sticks close to Adara – alpha and friend – and lets her do the talking for them.

She moves into the room, and makes a beeline toward the sandwiches. Even now, with a steady diet, she is all about getting a meal when and where she can…

Daoi Gladecu

*That made Daoi blink in surprise she was about to answer Myoko that was until the knock came to Carter’s door.  She turned to look to see who came in.  Slowly she gave her lop sided smile.*

Adara….

*She said warmly greeting the Fury, and patting her hand as she touched the kinfolk’s arm.  She nodded respectfully to Rory*

Rory.

*She then turned back to Myoko*

To answer your question Kimura-Rhya…no.  I am a simple and humble kinfolk.  The things I find are tied to scientific deformities within the blood and chemical compounds, or even physical deformities.

Carter Roth

Carter had to give himself a pat on the back for managing this. He’d managed to herd a bunch of Garou into one place…as well as a fellow kin, now of course the question was…what next? He had planned this far….at this point it was up to the others.

Smiling to himself he moved towards the table where Rory stood picking up a few sandwiches to feed her insatiable appetite. He nodded to the woman as he plucked up another one of his own and moved towards the chairs and the couches, leaning against the couch that put him closest to Myoko….if anyone wanted to make a comment on that…it was their funeral.

Myoko Kimura

“A pleasure,” she returns to Adara, then moves herself to seat.

The interaction between the Kinfolk and others does not go unnoticed, but it goes without remark. Myoko is, if nothing else, a Garou that clearly has formalities before anything else. Her demeanor is reserved, and while not aways so, it is tonight. It goes well with her short height and very unassuming frame.

Returning to her chair, she glances back to Daoi to resume their conversation. “That must be a very fascinating subject,” she tells the female Kinfolk. Her head cants a little, interest perked and gaze unwavering. “How long have you studied the field?”

Daoi Gladecu

It can be, I’ed be more then willing to show you around the lab sometime.  We currently don’t have any tests within it that would react badly to rage.

*She shifts her weight in the seat carefully to take pressure of some of her joints*

Oh dear, how long…my early 20’s…this will age me a bit 15 plus years, but enough about myself.  Where are you coming from? What about you?

*She asks with a polite chuckle*

Adara Mires

She leans into the couch, legs tucked under her, her eyes noticing where Carter sits and one side of her mouth curls into a slightly impish grin as she look at Carter. It was clear he will hear about it later…maybe even a few times

Her eyes follows Rory to the table then back to the Doctor and wait until Myoko answer her before saying “I didn’t know you had moved here. Carter failed to mention this when we saw each other. How are things?”

Then she asks Carter “You have anything to drink?”

Rory

Rory takes up a sandwich, an then one for Adara too, before she uneasily makes her way back to the group. She gets nervous enough one on one – it isn’t hard to imagine that a meeting like this has her skittish as hell… which, for one of her Rage and Rank, is not necessarily a good thing.

Fortunately, she is as meek as she is deadly, and she settles to sit in an open seat, and offers Adara a sandwich.

Carter Roth

As much as this meeting was about Carter, it was more about others meeting that knew him, connecting faces and places, establishing a network, it wasn’t really his plan to do that, as the network already existed for him, but….sometimes he was nice.

He was remaining largely quiet as he let the others talk, let everyone start the process of knowing, of sniffing each other out if it came down to it. He did however look over to Adara and nod, gesturing to the table with the pass of a hand. “Tea, coffee, water, and some pop if you really want it.” He says casually. “Nothing to fancy, but iI tried the coffee and it wasn’t burnt all to hell, so thats a good sign.”

Myoko Kimura

“I would enjoy that.” Nodding her acceptance, she will be sure to make arrangements with Daoi later, so that she can go and browse through this labratory. There’s stories in the scars on the Kinfolks face, and in the profession that the other has chosen. Myoko could learn a lot, and being young and ambitious, she’s not about to pass up the opportunity.

Before Adara speaks, she offers a small smile to Daoi. “I’m from Seattle. A Lorekeeper, Galliard, and have moved here with an interest in the dynamics of the city.” Looking from the Kinfolk to the Garou that settle on the same couch, she watches the two interact, before turning her head to glance at where Carter has perched nearby her chair.

She watches him a heartbeat or two, then looks back to the two Garou. Rory carries more presence, but she defers to the younger, the Shadow Lord notes.

Adara Mires

She smiles to Rory “Thanks but I”m ok. Enjoy both sandwiches” She watches everyone in the room, Carter’s circle of friends in San Francisco. Most she knew so her attention was more often on Myoko, the unknown quantity.

She nods to Carter’s words “Aww no beer? Carter, what’s happening with you?” She smiles and smoothly get up and head fore the table and gets a bottle of water “Anyone wants something?’ She asks. Might as well since she was already up.Once she has everyone order, she hands the drinks and then sits back on the couch.

Daoi Gladecu

Well Carter is forgetful, and he should owe you a favor.

*She winks at Adara playfully*

Everything is going well.  The lab is almost fully set up…

*She looks at Carter then Adara*

He’s being blasphemous…he said it’s an AA meeting

*She raised her brow and looked down her nose playfully at Carter*

Rory

Adara tells her to enjoy both, and she will. She takes a bite, and happily sets about eating her dinner. or snack. or something – with her, it’s hard to tell. when Adara holds up her water, Rory raises her hand to silently ask for one – she’s not about to speak in this group setting, not yet. Not until she gets her nerve up.

She felt Myoko’s eyes on her, judging and discerning, and she peeked up at her through rusted lashes, through all those curls… but she didn’t say anything about it. She simply let it pass. Let the woman think what she wishes… it ight even be true.

Myoko Kimura

It becomes rapidly apparent that Carter’s friends are cut from a different shape to Myoko. Adara may share the same Auspice, and the three Garou similar instincts, but they are of different Tribes, ages and upbringing. Rory may be closer to Myoko’s demeanor. She hasn’t figured out if the bright haired woman is quiet or shy.

Pushing out of the chair, she moved towards the tables. When Adara had offered drinks for everyone, Myoko answered: “Thank you. I’ll make myself a tea.” Which is what she sets about doing, taking her time and listening to the others in the room. She has hers black with a single sugar.

Carter Roth

Carter snorted as the pair of them began to gang up on him. For his part he simply smirked and shook his head. “This place doesn’t allow liqour, or drugs, or firearm’s or anything fun.” He said with a gentle shrug. “Thats why its dirt cheap to rent it out. They feasibly don’t have to worry bout our asses getting drunk and taking out a wall…or in this company, most of the building.” He says as he looks pointedly from Myoko to Rory and then at last to Adara.

“You don’t like it, you can go…means more couch space for me.” He says with another smirk on his lips as he seems to imagine spreading out on one of these fine mid range sofa’s and taking a nap….Carter was the master of couch napping after all.

Daoi Gladecu

*She thanks Adara when she passes her water.  She looks at Rory*

So where are you from Miss Rory?

*She asked curiously.  Those storm cloud eyes caressed Rory’s red hair.  The dangerous ones were always pretty to look at.  Much like a Tiger they would claw then eat you whole*

Rory

She blinks. Miss? But she peeks up at Daoi and offers her that shy little grin again, before she takes a swallow of water, and finally answers.

“Chicago.”

Single words are easier – and since being banned from her birth sept, it’s as close to the truth as needed really.

Myoko Kimura

“You arranged a meeting of Garou in a place that has such a clause?” Her tone comes across clearly amused. She doesn’t look away from where she’s stirring sugar into the tea cup, smiling down at it, with the edges of her mouth lightly upturned. Garou didn’t need drugs or booze as an excuse to put holes in the walls. Holes appeared when the Garou the urge of violence struck, or got the better of them.

Adara Mires

She chuckles at Daoi’s words “Oh, I’ll make sure he owes me” She grins at Daoi “I’ll have to visit your new place Doctor.” Then she grins at Carter “Pff you’ll miss me if I leave”

She look at Myoko “You are from Seatlle? How’s the city doing? It’s been nearly a year since I left. Are things ok over there?” She asks with curiosity. “And did you come with a pack?”

Adara Mires

(sorry for delay..my chat had frozen on me)

Carter Roth

“Hey, I dunno what you true’s do when you first meet, for all I know you wanna slap chests or recite great fucking stories about each other.” He says with a shrug, having never been into a sept proper, the sort of place garou usually met for the first time…or at least so he believed.

“I figure somewhere private was the best bet. So here we are…now enjoy your tea and sandwiches, or don’t…cause Im taking whatever’s left over.” He says with a gravelly chuckle. “I’m getting tired of take out, so i figure I make a nice illusion for myself when i stock my motel’s mini fridge with those things.”

Carter raised a brow at Daoi and smirked. “I think you owe me a few too…you know, like after the time you used me for guinea pig and fed me hallucinatory drugs.”

Daoi Gladecu

Chicago?  mmm I don’t recall crossing your path Miss Rory…or I may have…sometimes things were a bit fuzz…

*She grins apologetically*

I had about 50 thousand projects on the burner while I was there.

*She slowly look back at Carter and her eyes narrow mischievously along with a smirk*

Well Mr. Roth…we’ll have to work out a deal.  I’m sure your License needs renewing with the authority.

Myoko Kimura

Setting the spoon, or wooden stirrer, aside, Myoko picks up her cup and turns from the table. “The city rain falls the same as the year last,” she answers Adara on her way back to her chair. She doesn’t spill a drop as she settles back, crossing her legs this time and getting more comfortable.

A look then. “No, I didn’t.” No pack. No Kinfolk. And a Shadow Lord can never say that they have friends. Allies would be stretching it.

Lifting the cup, she bowed her head just enough to blow across the steaming surface and inhale the scents that come off it. She doesn’t look at anyone in particular, but at a point in front of her, and absorbs the atmosphere. There’s plenty about Carter she’s quickly learning.

Adara Mires

She grins at Carter’s words. “I think just talking is a good way to spend a first meeting. Though if Myoko is interested, we might eventually meet and exchange a few stories”

Her eyes look at the Asian woman “I’d love to hear some of the stories you know. And since you’re alone, if you want, I can give you my number or you can ask Carter for it. If you get in a situation you can’t handle alone, give me a call. My pack and I will come to your aid”

Rory

Daoi doesn’t recall crossing paths, and Rory lifts a shoulder in a slight shrug. she didn’t cross paths with many, and she is not the type that would be forgotten easily. But it’s no matter to the shy Fianna.

She watches as Adara offers their aid to the other songster, and tips her head slightly.  Curious only, not with any other intent than that, making note of the offer so that she can indeed run to her aid should it be needed.

Carter Roth

Carter rolled his eyes at Daoi’s words and he shook his head. “I’m sure the Authority would love a deal…well see bout that.” He said as he at last wolfed down the sandwich he had been holding in his hand. He looked back over his shoulder to the empty couch that stretched out before him, with Daoi on one chair, Myoko on the other and Adara and Rory on the other couch…it made this one his by default, but if he did he wouldn’t be able to see the others, not if he laid down, so he sighed and resigned himself to leaning for now.

“Hey like I said, I don’t know what you true’s do…I left the place set up for pretty much anything.” He shrugged then and felt somethign pop again, as nice as it was..he wished it would stop.

Myoko Kimura

What Shadow Lords do have, is a good deal of pride – or at least this one does. Sometimes it’s worn on the sleeve. Sometimes it’s hidden while the Lord offers a deceiving demeanor. Here, when Adara offers to send a pack to her aid, assuming that Myoko may need it, the slight Asian woman lifts her head and looks over to the other Galliard. “If I find a situation that requires more then one, I’ll be sure to contact you, Adara.” There’s a slight difference in words, a light correction of assumption, but her tone isn’t as biting as the words could be.

“And if a story comes to mind that I’d like to share, I’ll remember that offer, too.” She took a sip from her cup and lowered it down to her lap, where she cradled the base in her opposite palm. Differences make the world interesting, or so it’s said. It certainly makes this little get together that.

A glance to Carter then, and at the last moment, she decides to hold her tongue and look away, across the room.

Daoi Gladecu

Miss Kimura, have you met Jael Zanko? He’s a judge within our family.  I believe he’s looking for more of the tribe to meet with.  If it is acceptable, may I tell him you’re in the city?

*Daoi asks her brows raised*

Rory

Her gaze narrows slightly as Myoko changes around the wording, carefully hedging what she believed was assumed by Adara’s offer. She tips her head, slightly…

Then turns her gaze toward her sandwich, so as not to say anything. There is something in those eyes, something that the simple exchanged confirmed, that causes the Fiana a touch of uneasiness. She shifts her position, slightly, then resumes finishing her meal.

Myoko Kimura

“Please do.” Myoko would be glad to meet others of the Tribe. Mila isn’t here, and she wonders how that Shadow Lord fits the pack sitting across the room, and what she will be like. A judge is someone that she’s sure to get along with – she hopes. “And be sure to take my contact details with you, Daoi.”

“Is Jael Zanko your gaurdian?” When in doubt, ask.

Adara Mires

She look at Myoko for a moment then simply shrugs. Seem like the Shadow Lord wanted to keep to herself. It was fine with her. Most Galliard loved to trade story but not this one it seem. Maybe it was because she was Shadow Lord, very private or just didn’t like the Fury.

Whichever it was, she offered once. She won’t again. She drinks her water, silent for now.

Daoi Gladecu

I’m sure if I asked, he would be.

*She says honestly and tapes her cane against the ground*

But I haven’t as I don’t wish to disturb him.  I believe he’s imprinted upon someone.  A possible mate.

*She smiles*

I believe he’s still trying to win her over, and as I wish him the best of luck, I don’t want to trip him up.  Besides, it’s been rare that I’ve had a guardian.

Myoko Kimura

[ooc: brb]

Carter Roth

Carter meets Myoko’s gaze and one eyebrow rises in question, but when no words are uttered and she looks away he simply shrugged and pushed off the couch.  He moved slowly but surely back over to the side table and picked up a water bottle. With the twist of its neck the cap popped off and he took a gulp.

It was then as he turned around and began the walk back to his perch on the edge of the couch that he took the time to look at each person, attempting to judge their comfort level, their interest levels, and of course…wether they were hating each other in any fashion.

There was talk of guardianship, of how different people were shaking up with others, or at the very least protecting them. Carter raised a brow at the thought of Daoi actually having a warder, and it brought him to something he had not told Daoi.

“Oh…yeah bout that sorta thing. I forgot to mention that besides being part of our…..tribe.” He says quickly. “Myoko is my Warder, dunno how you make that official or what not…but figured you should know.”

Rory

The talk turns to warders, to mates, to things such as that, and Rory – well, she remains as she has been. Quiet, unobtrusive. She is shy, it’s true, but she also watches and listens, even when it concerns such [forbidden] things.

She looks over at Adara, and can’t help the little smile, before she ducks her head to hide it away again as she reaches for her water bottle and takes a long drink.

Daoi Gladecu

*Daoi looks at Carter and chuckles*

It’s not always up to us to decide.  Often a true born of your tribe appoints themselves.  Or from what I’ve experienced.  Remember Lukas?

*Carefully Daoi stands up and stretches subtly and starts to limp around a bit to work out the stiffness in her joints.  She holds a secret smile as she caught Rory’s reaction.  Daoi knew Adara’s taists.  At leas they were happy, and the that was good for the quiet ones*

Adara Mires

She empty her water bottle, unsurprised by Carter’s revelation to Daoi. She had known about this for some days now.  She put her bottle on the floor, offering a grin to Rory and then pull off the bland tying her hair, passing her hands in them and then placing the band around her wrist.

She leans back in the couch, listening to the Shadow Lords talk.

Carter Roth

“Yeah well you know my opinions on Lukas.” He says with a rather unpleasant look on his face as they speak of the shadow lord. Carter had left that behind however, and had little interest in discussing it. He held a hand out, palm up in the direction of Myoko then as if to show her off perhaps, or at least indicate her.

“She asked, and after a bit…I agreed, thats worth some points to be sure rather then just assuming that she was going to be my warder.”

Daoi Gladecu

It would be for you.

*She looks at him, by the cant of her eyes he could tell she was indeed pleased for him.  Then looks at Adara*

Have you found any of your own family in the city Adara?

Rory

They mention Lukas, and she stiffens. There’s no love lost between her and the Shadow Lord, after all. She’s had very little luck finding any of them that were worth their trust. Not since Edwin left her.

She sighs, softly, and pushes aside the memories of then, to rejoin the now. She has The Seekers now, she has a new city, a new home, a new start. She has more now than ever before – and she will make the best of it. Of all of it.

Adara Mires

She shakes her head, looking at Daoi “Not yet. No kin nor sisters. I have to admit that beside my pack, I haven’t met many of us here yet. Only Simon and Myoko so far.”

She shrugs “I’m sure there is a few of us around. Trick is to find them.Hopefully with time I will.” She smiles softly, thinking about the sister left in Chicago. She’ll have to call Gretel tomorrow to ask how the Fostern and her family were doing.

Daoi Gladecu

Well I wish you luck.  I may have to throw a party in the near future.

*She says as she sits down again carefully spreading the skirt to her dress so as not to wrinkle it*

maybe a few drinks, some good music…and what do American’s have?

*She looked at Carter then nodded*

Barbeque?

Myoko Kimura

For all the talk about her and her current relationship with the Kinfolk, and talk of guardians and the likes, Myoko had stayed silent. A nod here and there indicated a confirmation or agreement. Daoi’s words rang true – Kinfolk were often just claimed without their consent -, and Myoko had nodded pointedly to that for Carter’s benefit.

Her tea disappeared, sip by sip, until the remaining dregs were left in the base of the cup. “At the full moon,” she says, in a lull of conversation, “we should gather together. If for nothing else, to add a chorus of howls together for the Gods.” And maybe to hear the howls of others in the distance.

Rising up, she leaves the talk of barbecues, and hunts for somewhere to rinse out her cup.

Adara Mires

She smiles at Daoi’s words “Thanks. And sure a barbecue sounds perfect. And I could play and sing if you’d like” Hmmm a barbecue. You eat meat at a barbecue and that she can eat…sandwiches..not really.

Her eyes moves to Myoko “That’s a good idea. I’ll try to find a place where we could all gather, hopefully our howl might attract others in the city and we could start and get organised ”

That would be a really good thing, bring tribes together, create a network so kin could if one found a kin, he or she can put the kin in touch with tribe.

Carter Roth

There was talk of BBQ’s of future get togethers for this reason or that. If there was indeed a BBQ, the look on Carter’s face told that he would be there, pretty much gauranteed.

Things were getting quiet, if it was nearing the end, it would be the shortest meeting Carter would ever have been apart off. But hey…maybe that was just how it worked sometimes..it would mean he would get a chance to really take these couch’s for a test drive. he ran a hand along the arm of the couch in question as he took a drink and chuckled to himself.

Myoko Kimura

[ooc: ha ha. test drive. With this many women, he probably could.]

Myoko Kimura

Seemingly satisfied with Adara looking for a location, Myoko leaves it at that. Her cup is rinsed and set upside down to dry on a cloth or sink, and she returns to the seating area. Chair abandoned, she sits on the couch. It puts her directly behind Carter’s back, with his ass on the arm of the couch next to her. If it bothered her she wouldn’t have sat there.

“Have you found anything of interest in the city?” She’s looking over at Adara and Rory, between the two of them. By interest she’s talking about Wyrm things, or something related to that. They get the feeling she’s not talking about tourist attractions but strictly Nation-related.

Adara Mires

Her lips curls a little when Myoko change seat. Carter…international ladies man, she thinks to herself. It amused her a lot. And if Carter and his warder likes each other, she’ll be happy for his friend as she had been about him and Gretel, however brief it was. Except it seem she might not get along as well with Myoko as she did with her Sister in Chicago.

Might only mean that when she sees Carter it won’t be with the Galliard. Maybe things will change and opinions will too. Who knows, she might en up getting along with her auspice mate.

She shakes her head at Myoko’s question “So far I haven’t seen anything but Simon, another Shadow Lord, told me about dragons. Seem like he witnessed a SWAT team trying to kill one of us and then a man changed into a dragon and killed her. That’s the only interesting thing I have found so far”

Rory

She makes a face when Simon is mentioned – without realizing she does. Yet another that she doesn’t get along with. She misses Edwin at times like these. He was as sneaky a Lord as they come, but honorable too. In ways that Lukas and Simon could only dream of…

She rubs the side of her nose absently, except she perks up at the mentions of Dragons. She wanted to see that… a real live dragon! That would be something….

Daoi Gladecu

Dragon? Really?

*Daoi blinks curiously.  She hadn’t heard that one before.*

Myoko Kimura

More Shadow Lords. What she heard was true then. Her Tribe is a growing influence in the city. It’s not a surprise given what the Galliard knows about the struggle here. Most Garou know about that, and how the numbers of them are so few, because of reasons like this. Not Dragons, that was unexpected and, dare she say it, a little disbelieving, but the hunting of the Garou.

“Simon. Do you know his deedname?” So far they had only given their common human names, a big faux pas really. It’s been overlooked in the cute little setting of a studio apartment, with tea and subs, and Kinfolk.

Carter Roth

Carter had been downright casual as he had sat upon his couch all by his lonesome, dreaming of sleeping upon its nice new furnishing. But then he gets that feeling, that tingle that one only got when a Garou was getting close, REALLY close, and he watched as Myoko walked right up next to him and took a seat beside him on the couch. He turned briefly and looked down at her with a brief questioning look before he turned to listen to the speak of Dragons.

He didn’t seem overly believing, surely it was something else as Dragons just…didn’t exist so far as he knew. “Sure this guy wasn’t smoking something?” He asks as he shifts slightly on his seat, sitting up a bit straighter.

Adara Mires

She shrugs “That’s what he said” She tells Daoi and Carter”But you know him, he tends to exaggerate. So it might be similar to one but not an actual one. Point is, one of us died though”

She looks at Myoko “Bone Grinder, used to be Wyrmfoe in Chicago”

Of course she hadn’t given her deed name, nor her rank, her tribe and even her auspice at first. Myoko had been introduced as Myoko, which she didn’t correct, and things went on being very casual..very human like it seem. Probably something Carter was enjoying. She was pretty sure he would have clenched his jaw and pop something if they went all deed names and such on him.

Poor Carter

She made a note to formally introduce herself next time she meet her fellow Gallaird. Maybe the meeting will be more Garou like without kin around.

Myoko Kimura

At the mention of Bone-Grinder and Wyrmfoe, the Shadow Lord nodded. She would have to see what she could find out about the others. Now that she’s in this city, there’s no contacts she can call, and it’s going to be more ground work for her. But that’s the reason she’s here. To find out, remember, and tell.

Myoko is quiet as the conversation continues, listening for the moment. And despite that she’s sitting where she is, she hasn’t reached out to touch Carter. Her hands are resting casually in her lap, with her legs crossed, and she’s watching the three women in the room rather then looking up along the kins spine. Admittedly, though, she had checked his back before sitting, to see if she could make out the weapon he carried.

[and brb again, dinner is done.]

Rory

She tends to be on the casual side herself – mostly because she so rarely speaks. There is no Caern here, either, that demands they group and give their names and howl as one – and while that is something to be mourned and missed, she sometimes likes the simplicity of it being just her, and Adara, and Mila, too.

She watches Myoko and Carter, and the subtle interplay between them. Curious, always, the redhead, but there’s somethng else there too… hidden, but subtle. It has her quiet, introspective…

But – then Adara says that Simon exagerates, and that gets something rare from the Fiana, at least in public: Laughter.

Daoi Gladecu

((hey all I gotta hit the sack NIGHT!!))

Carter Roth

If Carter was still wearing his piece it was damn well hidden even at this range, or perhaps he had shifted the location of it, the flow of the button up could allow for it to be hidden in any number of places. They were starting into things like deed names, and talking of Garou business and Carter simply shifts casually on the arm of the couch before bending backwards and feeling his back cracking. “Alright thats it.” He says as he stands, moves to the open portion of the couch and took a seat, letting his back settle against the backrest…apparently it was something he felt he needed.

It is at this point that Daoi’s cell phone calls her away, and she rises to leave. With curt but formal nods to all she makes her departure Carter waving briefly to the woman as she left.

When the door was closed Carter turned back to the remaining individuals, the man now completely surrounded by garou.

Adara Mires

She nods to the Doctor when the woman leaves, waving at her and a promise to visit. Carter gets himself comfortable, alone with three women, three Garou with fairly high rage. The man had come a long way since their first meeting.

She gets up fluidly and moves to the table with the food and drinks and gets another bottle of water then returns to the couch but doesn’t sit, looking at the kin once more “You look like you need to relax handsome. Maybe we should leave you alone? I mean we can hang another time”

Did the we included only her and Rory or Myoko as well, she doesn’t say. Maybe she assumes the Shadow Lord wil lstay with him,

Adara Mires

(going to head out ofr food…should be back in 20..sorry )

Rory

(and my head is pouding – so gonna lay down for a bit – Rory will stay or vacate with Adara.. :) )

Rory

(thanks for the play! )
