[Ghost in the machine] It was still Thursday night. Rory, after eating at the Missus’s went to check on her other clients. The next one was angry at the mechanical failures, just like the Missus was but Rory, now having a good idea of what was happening, had went into the Umbra and scared the Gremlins away from all her client’s buildings so she only had to get there and repair their appliances.
It was time effective has she only had to check the things once, make some slight adjustments as everything seemed ok, just like at the Missus. It took her a few hours and she almost got to all her clients. Tomorrow, only 2 will be left out of five. At least the gremlins will stay away right?
It was past the shops and restaurants closing time when Rory hit the streets to get back home or maybe to a certain Galliard. She walks past the Missus’s when all the lights went out at once. Rory knew well enough by now that the Missus always leave a few lights on on the outside the building.
Before she could do anything, she notices that her only other client in her line of sight went dark as well..completely.
[Rory] Definitely to a certain gallaird – she wanted to tell her about the happenings, and see if perhaps Adara had heard any stories about such things. Maybe they’re just mischievous, looking to play, or maybe it’s something worse – but the green glow, and well… she has people she cares for to protect, and a pretty fury to ask questions of…
But she doesn’t get that far. As she passes by the Missus’s place, everything goes dark, and the other client went dark as well, and she’d be willing to bet the others too. She furrows her brow, deeply, and ducks down the alley to the side door, and gives her knock – just in case anyone was around…
“Missus?!”
Something’s not right, for sure….
[Ghost in the machine] She walks to the side door and knocks. There is no answer. Seems like the place is deserted. It was almost completely silent for even the constant buzz of electricity was dimmed. There wasn’t no one in the alley and on the streets were about the same amount of people she’s used to to see at this hour.
Something was definitely wrong. Maybe it was sabotage, a breaker who blew up or something more sinister.
One thing for sure, not even the emergency generator is working at the Missus’s restaurant right now.
[Rory] Not good. Not good at all – she fixed that generator herself, and she KNOWS it was working like a dream, just like the freezer and the stove after she got her hands on it. She chews her lower lip, absently, and then remembers something..
and digs into her pocket to find the phone Adara had given her. She’d protested of course, because the damn things don’t make sense – but just like the little drawn maps to secret rendezvous, patterns can be memorized, and followed. And there’s only one person she wants to call, anyway.
So she presses the first button, and then holds it to her ear, and hopes the Fury picks up.
[Ghost in the machine] It takes a few rings but the phone is answered in a very delighted voice “Good evening my love, how are you doing? I’m so happy you called. Phone is working fine?”
There are voices in the background, not loud enough to be from a club or bar but she was somewhere public that’s for sure. In the main area of the Brotherhood maybe? After all that’s where she lives no?
She could hear the background noise changing as the Fury moved away from where she was sitting at the bar and headed outside to hear Rory’s voice better.
[Rory] She smiles, happily, hidden as she is, and bites her lower lip a moment. Then she nods – before remembering that Adara can’t see her. Duh. “Yes.” The phone is working, that is. and then, she furrows her brows.
“But womething’s song. At the Missus. Little things, breaking me thechines… now all is dark…” She shifts her weight from foot to foot, and rubs at the side of her nose. “Need go to to the other side to investigate again. If I don’t bet gack soon…”
she leaves unsaid that it means she’s in trouble. Because she’s a big bad rage machine. She can handle it easily enough… right?
[Ghost in the machine] She smiles at the moment of silence before Rory said that the phone worked fine. Then she explains something was going wrong and she frowned. Her tab was already paid inside. Beside Danny knew her and if she doesn’t come back in, he would assume she got called for Garou business. If he needs anything from her, he’ll leave a message on her room’s door or tell her when he sees her next.
As Rory speaks, the Fury’s legs has started moving, gathering speed, making her way toward Chinatown. Once the call is over, she’ll sidestep and change into lupus to cover ground more quickly
“I”m coming over baby, as soon as we hang up, I’m sidestepping and coming at you on four legs. Don’t go in there alone..please?”
There was worry, concern and a lot of caring in her tone. She was confident that her friend was very powerful but still. Sometimes it can just take a little something to go wrong and then..death.
[Rory] “Ce bareful! Grimlin thike lings plucking at wires on other side, thats what caused pirst froblems. This..” She’s frustrated. She doesn’t understand what’s happening, and she wants to get in there, and figure it out.
hopefully before the missus loses her inventory… “don’t get co tlose on other side..”
[Ghost in the machine] She listens to Rory’s words, her mind correcting the words without efforts now. “All right. Give me ten minutes, I should have crossed the distance between here and there by then. Sidestep and howl so I can find you. Then we can take on whatever is messing with the machines. Love you baby”
She waits for Rory’s reply and the finding a puddle in one of the deserted alleys nearby, she sidestep to the other side. Quickly she’s let her clothing fly off and once naked, she shifts into her lithe, powerful black with grey highlights wolf form. She runs as fast as she could knowing that even at full speed she will arrive breathing barely faster than normal. Bacchus’s help was greatly appreciated.
[Rory] She dimples into a little pleased grin as Adara finalizes the plan, and nods slightly. ten minutes, other side, howl. Got it.
And the last bit – has her blushing so bright the Fury can likely hear it flood her face, as she murmurs a soft “Te moo.” before hanging up. She tucks the phone into her pack, and shoulders it, knowing it and everything inside will travel with her – as will her clothing. She counts, slowly, then halfway to the alloted 10 minutes, she loses track of time and worries… so she finds her reflection, and steps to the other side…
[Ghost in the machine] About 7 minutes after hanging up, Rory worried sidesteps and find herself in the same surroundings as earlier. The western style décor, with spiders and oriental spirits fighting for dominance. Amongst all that she can see the little gremlins like creature moving around. There seem to be more of them but at the moment, they aren’t messing with machines.
They seem to be patrolling.
Rory can hear their annoying little evil giggle all around. One of them seems to spot her and stops to look at her, almost looking like it was analysing her.
[Rory] She sinks to a crouch when she arrives, making herself as small as possible for a moment, to make sure there’s nothing ready to attack her, or worse – hurt Adara when she arrives. That little evil giggle makes hre skin crawl, and she rubs her arms, lightly, as she does a slow circle to take in all the surroundings…
And then – she shifts, faster than thought, to her birth form, lifts her muzzle to the sky, and HOWLS.
This is HER place. They will leave it ALONE…
And also – Hi, Adara. This way.
[Ghost in the machine] The Gremlin watching her let out a scared cry and moved away, then resumed it’s giggling at it rolled faster away from Rory. Others seems to join in the giggling and running away.
Rory can hear a powerful,clear almost musical howl coming from the distance. It was still fairly far but she could recognize the voice of her lover “Hey, you early. I coming”
Even though it was a beautiful sounding voice as far as wolf goes, the Galliard’s vocabulary was reduced when in lupus form.
While Rory waits, she can hear something coming closer, rolling, making the ground shake a little. If Rory has watched war movies, she might associate the sound with tanks. And soon enough she can see two tanks sized greener version of the gremlins. The texture of them almost scaly, Like the oversized offspring of a tank and a Komodo dragon.
[Rory] She hears Adara, and gives a wicked grin, and one can swear that under the fur as red as her curls, she is blushing too… but her eyes are on the little grimlins that giggle and run away… and then she feels it.
She tips her head, slightly, and leans forward in her crouch, planting a [clawless, weak, deformed, useless] hand paw on the ground, feeling the vibration…
Then she sees it. sees them, and she is suddenly leaning forward on all fours, and shifting into Hispo. Many have wondered why she enver fights in her birth form. Few have taken the time to discover why. Even their warleader has missed the obvious. even he can not shake away the blindness so he can truely see…
but no matter. It is the mighty Hispo form that the redhead takes now, planting herself firmly, ready… with a howl of warning for Adara as she arrives….

[Ghost in the machine] As soon as the tanks are in range, the red furred Fianna jumps on the closest and tries to bite but it’s armour/scale plating is too tough for her. Not one to be dissuaded, she tries again without much success. The tank she was on slashes her with claws but she deftly move away into the swipe of the second tank. It misses her barely, taking off some fur but causing no damage.
With a mighty roar, Rory moving blindingly fast bite the first tank again, her fangs causing sparks but the Ahroun saw something in the plating. A junction with what could be flesh. Barely readjusting her position she lounge to bite again, hitting the spot and ripping a huge chunk out of the tank with her jaw, a scream of agony coming out of it.
The first tank was still moving but it was clearly critically damaged. The second tank moved to attack her again.

[Ghost in the machine] The fight steps up in savagery. The first tank like creature was bleeding badly, weakening fast and Rory didn’t wait for it to die. She reached deep inside it with her jaw and with a loud snap, finished it. She then smoothly jumped on the second one, now knowing where their weak point was.
She bit it but it shifted it’s body slightly and she managed to rip a little out of it but not much. The tank swung a clawed hand in retaliation and caught Rory square in the flank, leaving deep claw marks on her body.
It angered the might Ahroun who struck again, almost ripping the creature in two despite it’s size. Then it was only a matter of time before she killed the agonising creature.
A lithe black wolf appeared and surveyed the scene. If wolf could whistle, she would do that right now. Instead, she shifts into Hispo and move to her lover’s side “What happened?” She growl, checking the Fianna’s injuries.
[Rory] She stands there, victorious, over the two tanks, sides heaving, blood flowing rich and red over her flank as she plants her feet and HOWLS her triumph. It’s daring. It’s crass. It’s a new confidence from the one named Sgian-Dubh, the one who dug her own canine out of her head to use it to carve her name in stone.
She is a Full Moon.
A Warrior.
She. Is. Fianna.
Adrenalin runs high still as Adara appears on the scene, and moves to her side. She tries to hide the injury, as it doesn’t hurt, but lets the determined Fury see it at last.
“Zigged.” A nod. “zoulda shagged.” She nods her head toward the tanks, and then points out the little grimlins. “They laugh. Then canks tame. Attacked. I kicked ass.” Said modestly enough, for all that it’s the truth. She was born and bred to be a weapon, and a weapon she is.
[Ghost in the machine] She made a little amused sound despite her concern for the Fianna. The wounds, deep as they were, are slowly healing. It wasn’t too bad. Nothing supernatural, just metal claws it seem. The Fury nuzzles and licks her lover with tenderness
“my warrior” She growls very softly, a loving sound made by a throat who couldn’t give the metis the usual sensual purr it usually has but the feeling behind it is plain. Pride and love. That’s what the Galliard is feeling for her lover at the moment.
Green eyes, even so close to wolf form, looks into the redhead’s face “You think it’s over?” She asks with curiosity.
[Rory] She leans into that nuzzle with a little huffed sigh, before the last question comes, and she looks around, searchin for the grimlins, listening for their laughter…
She shakes her head, slightly, ears prickin as they search for any sound. “Have cho teck the Missus, and others. Don’t sink tho. Too easy.”
Only she would think defeating two tank hybrids single handedly as ‘easy’….
[Ghost in the machine] She nods “All right, let’s go”
They walk together toward the Missu’s place as little Gremlins appears here and there, their little giggling filling the air. Then chatter..a mix of clicks and hisses. It seem quick, nervous, jittery. They move closer to the dead creatures, half giggling, half chatting.
They don’t come closer to the two Garou or to the Missus’s or her other clients. They seem to be waiting..for what? The answer comes soon enough.
The ground is literally shaking as they hear a deep loud roar. They can’t see it yet but something huge is coming and it seem to be producing smoke. Their keen ears can hear the sound of caterpillar tracks, whirls and a slithery sound not unlike when something with scales moves.
[Rory] Rory is injured, but is feeling no pain. Not yet, at least. Even so, the injuries will fade within days, as if they never existed at all. It doesn’t slow her, though, not as they walk, not as she watches the nervous jittery gremlins as they wait…
but for what…
She tips her great head, and ears flicker forward, and she watches, and listens… and… feels the earth quake, the tracks and slithery sounds – which makes her turn, and look, and search for the oncomin threat… Her rage is low, but her will to fight is not… that much is certain as she prepares herself…
[Ghost in the machine] The smoke is moving, coming closer even if the wind is not blowing in their direction. The roar is louder, the ground shaking as if there was a earthquake. A huge shadow is coming, the source hidden by nearby tall buildings.
It turns the corner and a gigantic dragon like creature appears. It’s hind legs are the caterpillar tracks, while it’s two huge clawed front legs are made of scales and metal. All long it’s under belly there seem to be little doors and ports. It’s face is very dragon like and the smoke is coming out of it’s nostrils. A wicked metal spiked tail is swinging left and right. The creature is easily 5 times the size of the previous tank like hybrids. Seems like the weaver has been busy working on the spirits around, trying new things, always inventing.
The dragon is on “all fours” claws leaving deep gouges in the ground. With another terrifying roar..well terrifying for just about any one who isn’t a seasoned warrior like the two women, it lounges at them.
Adara is preparing herself. Why when she fights creatures in the Umbra, they always had to be gigantic?

[Ghost in the machine] The size and appearance of the huge beast didn’t faze the two Garou. Both quickly jumped on it and started to bite him with fury. The problem was that it had strong scales. Adara bit it three times, barely scratching the scales except once when she left a mark. Rory was more successful. One bite made a nice size dent in the dragon. It looked huge to the Metis but the thing was gigantic..he felt it, she could hear it in it’s growl. He tried to breathe fire on the redhead but the flames went past her, then the tail swung but it glanced the Fostern, not leaving a mark on her body.
The battle was starting but it seem the two Garou had their hands full with this huge monster who felt frustrated that those two gnats weren’t squashed yet.

[Ghost in the machine] The battle is intense and the two Garou are fighting dearly for their life. They move quickly, lightning fast, jumping all over the huge dragon, sinking their fangs all over it. Adara manages to hurt it a little but Rory was the real warrior of the two and wounded him again, twice, leaving deep marks into it. The dragon seems more desperate trying to burn Adara who moved with her preternatural grace, dodging the hot blast of fire, singing her fur. Then it’s a huge clawed paw that tried to gut her and moving matrix like, she felt the tip of the claw on her skin but it didn’t pierce her flesh.
Furies don’t have just thick heads, they have thick skin too.
The creature is now bleeding from many places, looking weakened. The two Garou braces themselves to finish it, working as a team. They weren’t packed but yet they moved almost seamlessly together, if they tey were connected….maybe they were.
Then something happens, the dragon crouches and multiple gremlins, who had been converging on it plugs themselves into the ports, enters the now open doors. All those entering holding the green energy Rory has seen before. Those plugging themselves seems to be glowing with that energy..feeding it into the big dragon.
With a roar the dragon seem invigorated some and ready for more punishment

[Ghost in the machine] The dragon gets ready for the two Garou, taking in as many gremlins as he could. Adara was the quickest and manage to tore a part of the beast’s throat, blood splashing all over. Then tried for it again but to no avail, the creature’s skin was too slick with blood and she lost her footing, tumbling down and landing like a cat on her feet.
Rory was determined, the fire of a full moon burning deep inside her. She kept her hold by sheer force of will on the creature and bit it repeatedly. for some time it seemed her fangs wouldn’t pierce the skin, no matter where she bit but she managed to climb near the throat wound the Fury had made and clenching her jaw hard inside the gash, she let herself fall, taking with her skin, muscles and sinews.
The creature let out a loud roar of pain and in it’s death throes, unleashed a huge blast of fire in Adara’s direction, burning the surrounding buildings, as it fell on it’s side, crumbling completely the nearest structure. Rory, side bleeding with a wound that will probably leave a mark ever since the use of her gift, was shield from the fire by the dragon’s body but the Clitath was engulfed in flames.
It takes some time, but the fire dies down on the street, the surrounding buildings still burning. At the heart of the blast was a smoking form black and pinkish, fur almost burned completely, showing burnt skin here and there.
The form stirred and shifted into a bigger form, a war form and the Fury spoke in a deep raspy growl “Ow” Smoke came out of her mouth as the sound was made.
[Rory] It falls. It falls at last and Rory stumbles with exhaustion, staying on her feet by will (and sheer Fianna stubbornness) alone as it falls and breathes its last…
All over Adara. She suddenly scrambles forward to find her lover, her friend, her Fury, ignoring her own injury as she lowers her head to nuzzle against adara, a sound of worry and fear deep in the back of her throat….
[Ghost in the machine] The fury sits on the ground as spiders scuttles around them moving to the big dragon, the tanks, the crumpling gremlins and tries to absorb them. They have better things to do for now than turn their attention on the two women.
Adara nuzzles back against Rory, growling softly “I ok. Hurt but alive. Will heal. You ok?” She asks with worry, love and concern. She carefully looks at Rory’s side while her burns are healing themselves slowly, fur trying to grow back.
[Rory] Is she ok? “Tired.”
Exhausted, really, her muscles trembling with the effort to stay on her feet. She gave everything she had to help defeat the dragon, every last bit. She doesn’t dare collapse and lay down like she wants too, for fear she wouldn’t be able to push herself up again, not for a long time.
Instead, she nuzzles against Adara, urging her to her feet. “Hack pouse.”
There, they can clean up, and rest…. discovery be damned.
[Ghost in the machine] She smiles slightly..a strange expression on a Crinos. “Woods…wolf…safer..river clean, no one can see”
She doesn’t mind being with Rory but she also didn’t want to put either life’s or reputation in danger. Once again, she shifts, this time to lupus and barks at Rory “Follow”
She leads her through the umbra toward the woods where they can safely reappear near the river. She helps lick and and clean her lover, allowing Rory to do the same to her almost fur less body. Then, once both were clean, she leads her to a small clearing where they can sleep, snuggling in wolf form, feeling the other’s warmth and breath against their skin and fur.
