Marni | Homebodies [Ray]

[Marni] Having a nanny was the best. idea. ever. It freed Marni up to resume patrols, protecting her mate and her baby, and doing her duty for the Caern as well. It also gave her time to suss out the possibilities of another pack, and do a little Train Surfing, a little street rat work, and generally remind herself of who she is when she is not Marni the Mother and Mate. She’s still young – that freedom is quite important to her, though she’d never voice it out loud. She may not even have realized it, to begin with. It was Ray who noticed her tendency to pace when she felt cooped up, trapped, especially in the last months of her pregnancy. Thus – the Nanny. And happy Marni has the best of both worlds.

Baby Indy has grown like a weed, and even sleeps through the night now. Marni’s just checked on him, tucked him in and kissed him goodnight, all before she even dropped off her backpack in the closet. Of all the things Ray has given her – Indy? The absolute best. She tiptoes out and strips from her coat and pack, tosses them on the floor in the closet, where her boots shortly follow. Then, she searches the condo for her mate.

[Ray Ostermann] This was no longer the same old condo that Marni had first spent time with Ray before the arrival of Indy or that of their nanny. No, in the recent weeks a transition had taken place and the small family had moved from the old condo to a newer, larger one several stories up. It was big enough for a room for Indy, a room for the Nanny and even more space for Marni and Ray, the bedroom had gone from being large to practically sprawling, and it was here that Marni found her mate, stretched out on one of three chairs they had added to selection of furniture, with a large central foot rest.

It was obvious that Ray had already prepared for bed, his usual suit and button up shirt had been replaced by one of the silken house coats, and his hair was fresh and still slightly damp. It was late after all, and the poor bastard had to be up bright and early to head off to work. But it seems sleep had already gotten the best of him, the man was dozing with a book in his lap, not entirely asleep yet, no Marni knew that look well, he was on the cusp though.

[Marni] She pauses when she finds him, leaning a shoulder against the door frame so that she can simply watch him for a long moment. He’s not quite asleep, but he’s almost there. He’s done well for their little family, and it’s been even better since he’s been able to go back to work, and not feel every bit as trapped by their little family as she had. They have a pleasant balance, now. Hopefully nothing will upset that, anytime soon. Though the odds on ‘happily ever after’ are stacked very high against them.

She finally pushes from the wall – pulling shadows around herself to hide as she slips across the room, nothing but a blur of what might have been, easily forgotten, easily missed, until she’s able to slip into his lap – straddling him and pressing a kiss against his lips…

[Ray Ostermann] Ray is no warrior, no quick footed athlete or skilled soldier, one would not expect the business man to have any kind of reflex’s or reactions against the unknown. Hell he was known very well for running the hell away. But Marni might notice, just as she reaching his lap, that his eyes start to flutter, start to rise. Of course when she straddles his lap, her weight pressing down into his body and that kiss pins him gently back he is quite awake.

What had been a passive kiss becomes something more giving, and taking of course as the book is forgotten and hands trace over her hips to rest on the top of her ass as the kiss slowly ends.

“Good evening….to what do I owe that awakening?” He says with slowly growing smile.

[Marni] She melts into his kiss when he wakens enough to return it, hips curling against his under the touch of his hands, until it slowly ends, and she is left to grin down at him, mischievously. “You simply looked too good to resist…”

She tugs the book from between them, marks his page and sets it aside with a chuckle. “And you know if you slept too long like this, you’re neck would be in knots when you woke up. so really, I was saving you from yourself.”

[Ray Ostermann] Ray chuckles as she tells him how she was doing it for him, how it was for his own good and he should be downright grateful for the fact that she had awoken him. He raises a brow as he reaches up and brushes aside a stray lock of hair as he spoke. “Are you kidding, I’ve practically mastered the art of sleeping upright, theres not enough room for a couch in my office you know.” He chuckles as his hand falls from her curls and comes to rest once more upon her hip.

“And just where have you been anyways?” He inquires as he looks her over, his nostrils flaring as if he were trying to tell by smell where she had been. “Our new nanny was not particularly pleased when she found out you weren’t going to be home for dinner, something about to many left overs, not enough freezer space. It seemed like a life or death issue.”

His voice holds that playful hint of sarcasm that is one of his trademarks, perhaps even one of those attributes that made Marni think that having a baby with Ray might actually be alright.

[Marni] There’s not enough room for a couch in his office. “I know.” she quips. “that’s why I fuck you on your desk…” which she had, the first time she visited his office – which, in the long run, led to this lovely little arrangement. He brushes away her curls, and they bounce back, unruly as always, and she turns her head to nip at his fingertips, playfully.

He looks her over, and she shrugs with a little grin. “Out and about. Here and there. Riding the trains.” He can smell the wind on her – chicago wind and rain and the pure adrinilin lingering about her form. Her very frame thrums with delight at the thought of such death defying stunts. That she doesn’t do nearly as often now that she’s a responsible parent.

[…hahahaha…]

“as for leftovers…” her belly grumbles and complains its empty state. “Thank god. I’m starving. I will do my best to clear out a good portion of the freezer so she has no reason to complain…”

[Ray Ostermann] Ray’s fingers duck and weave nimbly to avoid her questing teeth and he lets out another low chuckle as his hand falls over the smooth soft plain of her belly as it grumbles. “You know if I didn’t know you better I’d think you were eating for two again the way you pack it away.” His hand lingers, not in the sense that he might be looking for a bump, simply in the fact that he desire to touch her, the hand slipping under her shirt to feel the skin itself as he looks up into her face.

“I’m still trying to figure out where it all goes you know. I swear you eat your own weight in food someday’s, and yet your the same delicious curves you’ve always been.” A compliment added quickly, to not insinuate that she eats to much, its hard for her to do anyways, what with the accelerated metabolism of gaia’s finest.

“Theres plenty to chose from, if you wouldn’t mind trying the casserole it would save me from having to fend off her insistence that I take it for lunch tomorrow.”

[Marni] She snorts, slightly, as she looks down at his hand along her skin. “Nary a baby bump to be seen…” and her grin just widens as he backtracks and makes sure she doesn’t think he means anything other than she’s still delicious herself – and eats like a horse, anyway. She leans forward and kisses him, quickly, even as she arches into his touch…

“I’d be happy to save you from the horrors of what is certain to be a delicious casserole.”

Then, she sits up and tips her head, her hand pressing against his, against her belly. “You aren’t thinkin of havin another one so soon, are ya?” Curious, really, though Indy is only a few months old. Of course, with her own life expectancy, if he wanted more, with her it’d have to be sooner rather than later. And she’s not quite sure how she feels about that, truth be told.

[Ray Ostermann] “Well then I invite you to thoroughly enjoy that casserole in all its wonder.” He whispers through the kiss, his tongue flicking out gently to touch her’s for the briefest of moments before she sits up and away from him.

Ray raised a brow at her question as well, his face showing a moment of surprise as if the idea had only just now crossed his mind, perhaps it really had, perhaps he had not considered the idea of having multiple children, as natural as the idea was, especially now that they already had Indy. His hand remained upon her belly for a moment longer before it slid from beneath her shirt and came up to her cheek cupping it gently.

“Well if we WERE to consider the whole idea of having more…I figure that at the very least you should have a good six months to a year sans baby bump…if we were to even consider that.” He says cautiously, entirely uncertain as to what her belief on the subject was.

[Marni] She moans softly at the touch of his tongue, his kiss – as always – igniting desire near instantly, causing her to curls closer, her fingers sliding along his jaw, around the back of his neck as she enjoys the lingering taste…

Then, the more serious question, and it’s his turn to cup her face, and she leans into the touch as dark eyes search his, sussing out the truth of his answer, how cautiously he broaches the subject…

And she smiles, turning her face to press a kiss against his palm. “While I ain’t adverse to filling this condo with your bright eyed babies if’n ya wanna – a year between at least would be good. I’ll go stir crazy gettin cooped up too soon, ya know? but I ain’t sayin no. Just – not yet.”

A lot of it is up to him, too – the chances are she won’t live to see any of their children grow into adulthood… he has to be ready for that challenge on his own…

[Ray Ostermann] Unknowns were a given, that much was undeniable. They both lived in a violent world one that bore little hope for either of them to be truthful. For Marni it might be a quick torturous death, but even Ray, protected as he was could be snatched up and carried off into the night to mate with entirely less desirable creatures then Marni. It was something they both tried to think less of, the future was uncertain..the now was what they tried to focus on.

She kissed his palm and he focused on the soft caress of her lips, the incredibly gentle skin that could give so much pleasure with such simple actions. “It…..might be something we should talk about. Though…I have to admit that now that we’ve had one, it seems slightly less terrifying having more.” He admits this freely, for all the bumps they have encountered, at the very least he seems to be taking on the role of father well enough.

[Marni] Her lips curve into a smile against his palm, before she takes his hand and presses a kiss to the inside of his wrist, then shifts to kiss his shoulder, his neck, up under his jaw, before finally finding his lips again, pausing only to murmur…

“You’re a natural. I can’t think of anyone I’d trust more with Indy – and however many siblings we decide to give him.”

And then she stops teasing, and kisses him for real, deeply, without reservation or concern… as if practicing making those siblings is of the utmost importance – practice makes perfect, after all… and Nanny’s casserole can wait…

[Ray Ostermann] He watched as her lips made a tour, moving from his hand to his shoulder, and as she sought out his neck he leaned back and relaxed into the chair. His head tilted back, exposing the line of his neck as much as he could, even as she continued to his jaw, and then at long last sealing her lips against his, and began to kiss him deeply, seeking out the desire in him that was already kindled within her.

He sighed as tasted her, felt her desire and his hands pulled her closer, drawing her body in against his own as he let himself fall into the kiss in its entirety.

“Not as natural as the mother who bares them.”
He breathed a response only briefly, the time for talking surely passing its apex.

[Marni] He pulls her closer, and she melts into him, a soft moan of delight dancing across their tongues as she teases him through the kiss, her slender, curvy form reacting to him readily, instantly, as always. She slides her hands under the edges of his robe, seeking his skin and spreading warm fingers across his chest, flicking a tease across his nipples, before sliding lower along his belly…

She has never held back from him, ever, and she does not do so now, even though she pulls away – it is only briefly, so that she can grab the edge of her shirt and pull it up over her head, her curls bouncing as she tosses the fabric to the side, and seeks his lips again…

A year ago she never would have thought to be here, still, with him – but fate has a funny way of twisting events until they seem like the only possible outcome.. and who is she to argue with fate? His taste, his touch, his willingness to be hers all tangle into a knot of desire deep inside the core of her, as she kisses him tenderly, thoroughly, and intensely enough that it will be remembered for nights to come…

[Ray Ostermann] It was the way of their relationship, passion seemed to spark whenever they needed it, there was never a ‘im to tired’ or ‘not tonight’s’ it was one of the blessing’s few and far between as they were of knowing that in more ways then most, your days were numbered, that you had to make them count. Days worth of memories, of them bound to each other, burning with the desire for one another, and fulfilling that desire might one day be all that they have of the other, of a mate lost to some unstoppable fate.

Yes…it was important to savour the now. Ray for his part needed no prompting, not in the arching of his back into the warm caress of her hands, and certainly not in the entreating and enrapturing grip of her lips. He is treated to a sight he always enjoyed, of her pulling free her shirt and tossing it aside, he savoured the feeling of skin against his as his hands roamed familiar curves, relearning every inch like they were new.

His hands do their part as well, one ensuring that their kiss, their thorough embrace was not interrupted slid up into her hair binding them together. The other slipped lower, running along her side, letting her know that this…this was perfect.
