[Ray Ostermann] The morning after….THE morning after a night of betrayal, trust, love, and lust. Many things had happened the night before, some of them physical other’s were more esoteric in their existence. Regardless it had been a long…long night and now as the sun rises over Rory’s apartment Ray stirs in Rory’s bed.
He is of course…naked, and until moments ago had been laying close to the furnace that was Rory’s body, bathing in her rage as he slept, it had been a fitful night…but one that was worth it to be certain. He woke with a gentle yawn and rolled away slightly in order to stretch, not wanting to bother the leggy redhead who lay beside him.
[Rory] Rory’s bed had turned out to be the pull out couch, and it was lumpy at best, and downright painful at worst. Neither of them noticed, or cared, as there were far more important things going on to even care. It was a night of betrayal, trust, love, lust – two of which are things Rory is not supposed to ever experience, forbidden by a nation who sees her as a war machine only, a nation that punishes her for the very fact she dared survive her birth, a nation that punishes her for the sin of her parents.
But not Ray. Ray sees her for who can be, who she is. He doesn’t laugh, and he delights in showing her new things – physical, and even simple things like a game of Jenga, something she’d never experienced before. He means the world to her – and if they never get another moment together, last night was worth it.
He pulls away to stretch, and she makes a sound of protest, only to curl back against his side and cuddle close again, sighing contentedly. She’s determined to soak in every second of his company before she’s alone again…
[Ray Ostermann] She rolls back into him before he can even finish stretching and that draws a soft, tired chuckle from the man’s lips as he looks to Rory with a bemused smile. “You know Rory…we were joined at the hips all night…I do have to move away eventually…at least for a bit.” The chuckle lingers as fingers play through her fiery red hair and the man watches her intently.
[Rory] She nods, slightly, hiding her face against his chest, before she stretches like a cat against him. Her hair is tangled, the curls a hopeless mess that won’t have a hope in the world of unsnarling until she can shower and use the conditioner that Gina had shown her how to use.
“I know.” a beat. “Just… yot net.”
[Ray Ostermann] Ray shakes his head the smile still on his face however, the clinging was expected, in fact at times it was part of Rory’s charm. She did her very best to drink in Ray, to have every inch of him as if he were the only source of air for her to exist upon…it made Ray feel many things to be certain, the most of all wanted. She wanted every inch of him with all of her being…and that was a rare thing indeed.
“Alright. I guess I can accept that.” He said as his arms drew around her once more and pulled her tight against his body, feeling their bodies mold to one another.
[Rory] His arms come around her again, and she sighs contentedly. She might say happily, but she isn’t sure what exactly that is. She has had glimpses of it since she came to Chicago, though they have been so far in between, so few in number, that she it serves only to make her hold tighter to the moments she recognizes.
It’s a while – forever in some respects, mere moments in others – before she speaks again. Then… “…you won’t hell ter?”
[Ray Ostermann] Ray thinks for a moment…that had been her last words between them before they had joined together and fueled their own lust for each other. He thought for a moment as his hand’s slid down along her side’s feeling the warmth that prickled up from her skin driving the sensation of rage into his.
“No….no I won’t.” He said with a shake of his head. “It wouldn’t do any good to do so, and in a while we may be able to do this again without hiding it…if Marni is willing.”
[Rory] She relaxes against him almost instantly. She can breathe again, though he can tell she’s still quite worried about it all. It’s not so much that she thinks Marni would come after her – she would let that happen. It’s that Marni could take it to the elders – as would be her right – and the Nation would make living here impossible.
But then, she’s confused. “…she’d we billing?!”
[Ray Ostermann] “When we first became mated, we discussed allowing each other to see others.” He said casually. “It wasn’t going to happen until the baby was born…but with the birth of the baby, it may be possible once again to do so.”
He ran a hand over her thigh, sliding towards the inner in a casual way, trailing his fingers from freckle to freckle.
“We’ll have to wait and see though.”
[Rory] She makes a softly delighted sigh as his fingers trail along her thigh, a blush working it’s way through her, dancing under her skin in reaction to his touch. She hides nothing from him, not her reactions to his simply being here, not her desire for him, not even her wish that he could be here, with her, always…
“Oh..” It holds a tiny bit of hope that she can’t hold back, that she wouldn’t hold back, anyway. “That’s not lo song..”
Not forever, at least.
[Ray Ostermann] “No…its not. But it will be a while yet. I can’t just bring it up the moment shes no longer pregnant. So I hope my dear Rory, that you have a great deal of patience still in reserve.” He chuckles, again keeping the mood light. He thoroughly enjoys her reactions, hearing them, seeing them.
It is a thrill knowing you make someone react in such a way…it was something he never really had with Marni.
[Rory] She nods, understanding, and then smiles against his skin, pressing her lips up under his jaw in a lingering kiss. She is… more with him. Braver, stronger, open, happy… more. If she knew what love was, this might be how she’d describe it. The only name she has for any of it, however, is simple: Ray.
“I only pow knatience.”
Few are more patient than Rory. She’s never had anything to look forward too, to test her limits. With no expectations, there is no limit. And for something good – she would wait forever.
[Ray Ostermann] Her runs a finger along her chin and nods with a small smile. “If I could Rory…I would bring you into our home to stay with us….but I have a feeling, as much as I may enjoy the heat and rage of your body….the baby may not enjoy it quite as much.”
“It would be something though…wouldn’t it?”
[Rory] She blushes, and tucks her head against his neck, simply breathing him in. There’s a longing there, wanting so much to have it work out that way, though she knows it never could, never would. To be able to hold a baby… to be able to be part of a family… even one so non-traditional…
“Can I see be thaby? from away so isn’t scared… Is goy or birl?”
[Ray Ostermann] “Of course you can.” He says with a honest smile. “And were not sure yet…we decided to wait and see what came out. “He chuckled now thinking about it more. “It’s more exciting this way, knowing would take some of the joy out of it.”
[Rory] She can see the baby. That makes her smile, open and contented and without hiding away – even if by the angle alone he wouldn’t be able to see, he can sense it there. Family is something she’s never really known. Ever.
“I’ll could fix something… a busic mox… for the room. Would Marni mind?”
