Marni | It’ll Heal [colt/others]

[Colt Montgomery] ~Colt parked the Black Yukon at Barnes and Noble, he’d heard they validate. Wouldn’t hurt to buy a book as a gift for a friend. he set the alarm and headed for the ground level by way of the stairs. He wasn’t sure this area fit into his budget for living, but he wasn’t having any luck on the net, maybe if he found a neigbhorhood paper or real estate paper, he’d have more luck
He’s wearing dark indigo urban cowboy True Religion ‘Billy’ Natural Super-T bootcut jeans, the seams stitched in white, his white tee shirt fits perfectly, his cowboy boots are dark brown and worn, the crunch of small rocks were heard as they walked. His signature straw cowboy hat was lifted from those dark curls as he stractched his head~

[Marni] Lake View isn’t exactly her kind of place. It isn’t where folks like her tend to live and love and breed. It is, however, Ray’s kind of place, and that would be why she’s in the area. In particular, in the alley next to the Barnes and Nobel, perched on a dumpster, just staring at the brick wall.

Around her? The scent of blood. Muted now, as she’s been bandaged, though it seeps through anyway. Her curls are damp from a recent shower, and her clothing is mismatched and illfitting – not her own.

She’s silent, but for the stead thudthudthud of her heel against the side of the dumpster.

[Marni] (sorry that took so long! fell outa the room then got a phone call. :) )

[Colt Montgomery] ~as he walked he heard someone, or something, he looked into the alley as he passed B&N, the scent of old blood on the air, the woman on the dumpster, a bit out of the ordoinary, especially given the ensemble she wore, what was she looking at, he stopped, staring at her, lifting the brim of his hat a bit so that hazel eyes fell upon her, she was particulary interested in the wall, had to be something there~

[Colt Montgomery] N.P I saw you in here and logged on… but no one was around LOL
to Marni

[Marni] Alas, there is nothing of interest there, and while her gaze seems focused, as he takes her in, it’s clear what she is focused on is not there at all. Her eyes, dark and so usually filled with good humor and laughter, are dull and flat…

[..empty..]

She doesn’t even look over at him as he joins her in the alley, searching for whatever has captured her attention. She simply keeps thudding her foot against the side of the dumpster. At least, at first. Then she lifts a hand to push back her curls from her face, and studies him. A cowboy. There’s a joke there somewhere, but for the life of her, right now, she simply cannot find it.

[Colt Montgomery] “Howdy” ~he’s got a thick texan accent~ “Something interestin up there? or ya just waitin on the Waste Management Trucks?” ~sure it was none of his business, but she seemed out of place, maybe he was the one out of place, but it wasn’t often he’d run into a woman kickin the wall for no apparent reason, and well he was plain nosey right now, especially given all that he’d heard that was going down in the city~

[Marni] She shakes her head, slightly, curls sliding along her shoulders as she lets her hand fall back into her lap. She blinks, slightly as she turns back to the wall, and then lifts her shoulder into a shrug that brings a hiss to her lips as she carefully lets that shoulder resume it’s natural resting position.

“Neither. Jus’ resting.”

[Colt Montgomery] “Odd place to rest yer weary head, it’s a bit unsanitary and all” ~but she seemed fine with it and who was he to judge a good restin place~ “I didn’t mean to poke my nose where it don’t belong. Could ya do me a favor? Tell me where the nearest waterin hole is” ~he reached over, his index finger and thumb coming together over the soul patch~ “Or cafe, could use a shot of espresso to kick me into gear”

[Marni] She snorts. “Clearly ya don’t know me very well. S’the very best place to be. Good things t’be found in dumpsters, you know.” Even vaguely amused, she is still so far out of sorts – not that he would know, not that he’d realize that this is so far out of character for her.

Still. Watering hole. “Inside there they gotta coffee shop, to drink while ya read or whatever.”

A beat, and a narrowed gaze, slight, her voice quiet. “You new in town then, Fenrir?”

[Colt Montgomery] ~She was correct in her assumption, he didn’t know her well, but if she felt it was the best place, that meant one of two things, she was a city dweller or homeless, or maybe both~ “Why yes I am, just moved here a week ago. Trying to get a lay of the land, and lookin for a place I might wanna rest my own head… though I’m partical to indoor plumbing” ~he offered a slow gin grin~

“So ya think the folks inside might be less than happy with me standin in their line, some people don’t appreciate the finer things in life… such as a Modi” ~he wondered if they had to go cups, they made things easier~ “Could grab two cups if your thirsty”

[Marni] “Been to the Brotherhood? They cater to us folks. Leastwise till ya find your own place.” Absent almost. But informative.

A modi. He seems awfully friendly for a modi, but then again, she’s known all types. He offers her a cup of coffee, and she shrugs her shoulder again. “Sure. Thanks. And if they don’t like ya standing in their line, fuck’em. They ain’t appreciate us anyway, so who gives a fuck what they think.”

Yeah. She’s in a mood.

[Colt Montgomery] ~he nodded~ “Well in that case, I’ll grab some to go and ya can fill me in a lil more on the Brotherhood. Care for it Black? Cream? Suga?” ~he then stepped out of the alley and headed for the nearest door that led inside B&N. It wasn’t so bad, the line, the people, most were all nose to the book bind, a few looked in his direction and scurried away, he ordered two Venti Pikes and got them made to order, he took his own black. He paid and made his way back out to the alley in about 5 minutes.

Long strides took him to the large garbage she’d called her comfortable place~ “So ya know who and what I am, care to let me in on yer secret? Lots of new faces for me. I heard the Brotherhood is run by the Fianna, but haven’t yet been there. Stayin at the Drake right now, but always lookin for something cheaper”

[Marni] Cream or ‘suga’ he asks her, and she nods. “Both.” Then waits, her foot again falling into motion, thudding against the side of the dumpster. When he returns, she takes her cup, wrapping it in both her hands, letting it warm her chilled fingers. She breathes deeply of the scent of the coffee, and then settles back without drinking it just yet.

“What, yes, who no,” she corrects. But she gives her own intro anyway. “Marni Geller. Sticky Fingers. Cliath BG Raggie. Sp…” she stops before she gives her pack name, her jaw snapping shut, a redhot slash of agony slicing through her gaze as she drops her eyes to her cup, and takes a slow sip. “Jus’ Marni.”

Safer topics. “Brotherhood’s free for us. Help out if ya can, but it’s free.” Can’t beat that for cheap.

[Colt Montgomery] ~he watched her with the cup, his own cup in his left hand, it was way to hot to drink, but it had lent warmth through him. he rocked forward to his toes and back to his heels, not really aware that he did such so much, he was listening though~

“Glad to meet ya” ~he quirked a brow at the sudden end of her introduction, that must have been why she seemed a bit odd, that and the fact she was a BG and rotogar per his tongue, he was somewhat perceptive, but the boy had not once ounce of empathy~ “Jus’ Marni. I’m Colt Montgomery, Culls the Beast. Claith. Fenrir Modi. Here with my packmate Silent Night, she’s a Uktena Rotogar, also goes by Cara Hernandez, we haven’t found any of her elders or even the likes out here yet”

~as for the brotherhood, it sounded nice enough, but he was hoping to make roots and find a real home~

[Marni] “Ain’t seen any.. Wait… I think Bai. He’s one of ‘ers. Hang in China Town long enough and you’ll find’im.”

She scratches lightly at her shoulder, and the bulk of bandages under the ill-fitting clothing, before wrapping her fingers around the coffee cup again.

[Colt Montgomery] ~he sipped the coffee, happy the barista thought to put sleeves on the cups~ “Well a name is good. Appreciate it” ~yeah he smelled that old blood again, he hadnt’really noticed the bulkiness under her clothes~ “I heard we had some hero’s fall recently, were you there? I can smell the blood in the air” ~another sip~ “One of the kin I met told me that some kinfolk have been kidnapped as well, and one turned up dead. I had asked if we had any of us on the inside, but they didn’t seem to know” ~he seemed interested on if the Tribe or Garou had any kin working in the Police Dept~

[Marni] The shadow returns to her eyes, and she closes them briefly, and lowers her head. “Some. My packmate just two days ago.” A beat, and oh so very softly, pained. “I couldn’t get there in time.” Her last packmate. one disappeared, one dead. And she. couldn’t do. anything. to stop it.

As for the blood, her blood, her wounds? One word. “Vengeance.”

She swallows. hard. And then takes a breath. “There’s a couple kin of yours in CPD. Another’s a medical examiner.” Safer topics.

[Colt Montgomery] ~he hoped one day he’d go down in crazy battle, it was the only way to go, but he sensed the pain, not getting there in time, he knew all to well that feeling, but she didn’t need to know that, and he could tell she didn’t want to talk about it, so he stayed off the topic, no need to open the woulds anymore~

“The medical examiner… That would be Imogen….” ~he nodded~ “I’ve yet to meet all the kin of my tribe, but glad to know we are in the right fields” ~he took another sip~ “I’d like to offer my help and my packmates help with anything. We’re Bounty Hunters by trade and Gaian by birth and seek vengence as well for the death of our kind” ~why was he telling her this, well he had no one else to tell yet~ “So if ya run into anyone, and care to share… I’d appreciate it”

[Marni] She nods. “Yeah, that’s her. John Thornton is one of the others, works Vice. The other is his girlfriend, works Homicide. Montoya, I think. Never met her though.”

She nods, slightly. She isn’t sure what she’s going to do now. Where she’s going to go. Whatever. It doesn’t matter. Nothing really does. “Yeah. alright.”

[Colt Montgomery] ~The Bg’s always knew everything~ “John Thornton and Montoya” ~he nodded, putting that to memory~ “I’ll remember that” ~he inhaled the smooth roast smell~

“Where does your pack claim territory?” ~oops, probably not the best question to ask~ “i just met Kora and Joe War Hand and know they claim Bronzeville…. and from the looks of it, they don’t take kindly to the other tribes.. how does that work?” ~he thought all tribes worked together to fight the wyrm, at least it was the way he was taught~

[Marni] She snorts. “not all of Bronzeville. Chicago’s a big fuckin’ place, and they ain’t got all of it.” She takes a sip of her coffee, taking the time to swallow before she answers. “We have…had.”

Stop. Breathe. Try again. “Back of the yards. Was part of Bronzeville. And we all do work together. Joe’s just a fuckin’ bigoted asshole. Thinks not only is the Fenrir all that matters, but those of his raciest asshole camp. There’s them, and then there’s the rest of us ‘inferiors’ – I fuckin sent a horde after him last time he got up in my face about it.”

[Colt Montgomery] ~the anger, what did it all mean, that fire that lit up inside of her, stirred her beast, he rocked back and forth, nursing the coffee, he had noticed that she never drankn from it, maybe she didn’t trust him, wouldn’t be the first time, or the last, no matter~ “a horde” ~he grinned~ “Beat him with a ridin crop, did ya?”

“I went by the Junkyard, noticed all the glyphs and all, but didn’t seem the pack took kindly to strangers, and by that i just meant the whole tribe thing. Good to have the low down on things” ~yep, when you wanted intel, Marni seemed to have it all~

“Had me a shadowlord approach me about packin up, said she was new, her and a pal. I was beginning to think that we had no inter tribal packs…. and me and Cara were gonna stick out like sore thumbs” ~he wasn’t sure what that term really meant, what did sore thumbs have to do with anything~

[Colt Montgomery] (Sorry, thought i sent that a fe minutes ago))
to Marni

[Marni] She’s been taking sips – not because she didn’t trust him, secure in the knowledge she could resist anything he could spike it with anyway – but because it is hot, and it hurts to swallow.

“Sent Rats after him. Made him smell nice’n’sweet, an’ the rats couldn’t resist and chased his ass down. Bugs can’t resist either, but was too cold for’em that night.”

She shrugs slightly. “Most is interTribe. Just a few assholes think they’s better than th’rest of us. My alpha…” pause. common marni, he’s been gone months… “was Fenrir.”

[Marni] (*L* no worries)
to Colt Montgomery

[Colt Montgomery] ~he cackled loudly, the thought of rats attacking Joe, that was funny as hell~ “I plan on stayin on yer goodside” ~he adjusted his straw hat~ “Glad to know that ya had a great Fenrir leader and aren’t prejudice against the rest of us cuz one bad apple or sour lemon”

~again that stall she had, he took that to mean that she was alone now, but didn’t want to jump the gun~ “Are ya the last of yer pack?” ~he didn’t know that feeling, losing an entire pack, he remembered how alone he felt back home though, when his life was turned upside down and he was left alone that cold dark night, and it took the quest to get him back on his toes, and now look at him, he was a new man~ “I hope I’m not askin all the wrong questions, being new is hard”

[Marni] She snorts, again. “I’m Gnawer. We’re on everyone’s bad side – an’ for all that, we ain’t got much of one of our own.”

Then he asks the question she knew would come, and she swallows hard. She watches the ground, her cup, anything but letting him see the pain, and how recent and raw it is, as it slides liquid through her dark eyes. She lifts a hand and swipes angrily at her leaking eyes, and then simply… nods.

[Colt Montgomery] ~yes, he’d asked all the wrong questions, or all the right ones, either way the rawness of it all came to a head, he looked down after she wiped her eye, his toe kicking at a rock, he didn’t have wise words to share, he didn’t know what to say, he wasn’t the type, he went in claws blazing and kept a level head, it was usually the rotogar who offered the balance he lacked, and the one like him, so he remained silent along side of her

a few minutes had passed, he finished his coffee in that time and stepped up to the large disposal, lifting on side and tossing the cup inside, stepping back~ “I’m sure your pack would want you to pack up again and fight in their memory, even if right now ya f eel lost, Luna usually finds a way to spark that light in us again, even when we’re in the deepest of trenches” ~a shrug of the shoulderes~ “I aint’ no talespinner, and well i look forward to the moot when the stories are revealed”

[Marni] She swallows hard, and wipes away her tears again, irritated that they still fall, though the wounds are still so very fresh. The Rite hasn’t even been completed yet. She takes a breath though, slow and steady, her chest filling against the pressure of the bandages, the ache physical, mental, spiritual all at once.

“We are at war. I’ll go where I am needed.”

Packed or not.
Willing or not.

She is a Gnawer, Queen of Adapt or Die.

[Colt Montgomery] “I understand that motto” ~he tipped his hat~ “Forgive me intrudin on ya in your time of grief, I should let you be. I don’t intend on causin ya anymore turmoil”

~really he had no where to go. His packmate was off. the only two kin he knew in the city were probably at work. That sly shadowlord had wanted to meet up, but he wasn’t all that sure about sharin a place with the devil, and he wasn’t doing Marni any good at all~

[Marni] She shakes her head slightly, and softly. “Sorry. I’m usually better company… s’only been a couple days. S’all. Ya ain’t bothering me none.”

She shifts her position on top of the dumpster slightly, and then sighs. “believe it or not, I’m usually the happy one.”

[Colt Montgomery] ~he turned and jumped, popping himself up on the other side of the dumpster, next to her, but giving her the space she needed, his boots knock against the base of the metal~ “Good, didn’t have no where to really be…. and ya, I’m sure ya are, I’m hopin I get a glimpse of that, but get the just of how ya feel. It’s not easy. I’m usually the broody one… but I’m steppin outside the box”

[Marni] She grunts as his hopping up rattles her careful perch a bit, but it’s brief and she settles again after a slow breath. She rubs at her bandages, and then takes another swallow of her coffee, bigger now that it’s cool, though it still hurts to drink.

“Ya ever gone surfing atop the subway cars?”

[Colt Montgomery] “Is that a sport?” ~he shook his head~ “cuz , i haven’t even been inside a subway” ~he didn’t know nothing about surfin, the only sports he’d been a part of growin up were football, baseball, bronz and bull ridin, and well that took a bit of balance, but not so much on his feet~

[Josie Clark] There’s a wor for people in this part of town.

She’s learned these things. She’s figured them out and has been making the rounds through the city for now. she’s learning turf; and Lake View was the second set of places on her list. Who ran in these parts of town, whose signs littered the streets. Who did she have to watch for, who did she have to work with.

Josie was good at these things.

She made her way across the street; she didn’t quite belong in this part of town anyway. Which made it even better that she was cutting through alleyways. Gotta learn the deal parts of the city. Gotta learn the parts that matter. The herald to her arrival was the sound of boots on the ground. Now, there was a fact to know about boots. There are fuck me boots, and there are fuck you boots. Josie was wearing the former, with possibly one of the shorest pairs of shorts that she owned.

It’s spring for chrissake. It’s supposed to be warm.

She’s all wrapped up in someone else’s leather jacket. Being good. Being as good as she can be.

No interesting graffiti. It makes her sad.

[Marni] She snorts. “only if ya brave enough. Used to do it back home. The El trains here are fun too – open to the air instead of underground like NYC. S’just hopping atop a moving train and ride it until you get where ya goin…”

…a sport. of sorts.

[Colt Montgomery] “Oh, I’m brave enough” ~it was if he was beating his fists upon his chest like a gorilla, he had no fear, course he wasn’t totally stupid either, he looked up and over, hearing the click of some boots coming through the alleyway, he waited a moment, peering in that direction, he tipped his straw hat up a bit so he could see better~

“Where we going?”

[Marni] Where they goin? She looks at him, and in her dark eyes is the barest shimmer of what she must be like most of the time… A brow arches. “does it matter?”

She turns her head toward the noise, and finishes off the coffee in a few slow swallows and waits for whatever is coming to come…

[Mila Davis] (Still an open scene ya’ll?)
to Colt Montgomery, Josie Clark, Marni

[Marni] (yes)
to Colt Montgomery, Josie Clark, Mila Davis

[Colt Montgomery] ~he totally missed that shimmer, he was waiting for someone to show up, he kept his eyes in that direction!~ “I’m thinkin no, any place is better than a dumpster in an alley” ~yes he was pokin fun at her, at least a bit~

[Colt Montgomery] (We are open for business)
to Josie Clark, Marni, Mila Davis

[Marni] Again, that snort. “So you say – ya ain’t lived till ya curled up all comfy in a dumpster some winters night…”

Course, you haven’t smelled, until you’ve done the same, but that’s a different story too. She doesn’t seem to mind the poking though. In fact, she almost – not quite, but almost – smiles.

[Mila Davis] The Shadow Lord had a different look about her this evening. Gone was the leather jacket, tight jeans and heeled boots. Instead, her look was much softer – and much less intimidating. Her dark hair was lightly curled at the ends and pulled up partially, the rest just twisted in the light breeze. Like usual, she wore a pair of jeans, but they weren’t her usual style, something more casual, yet still flattering. Instead of boots, she wore a pair of ballet flats, pink in color. She had a light jacket on, black in color but with a blue flower (silk) pinned to the lappel. Her shirt underneath was just a typical shirt from Express, blue in color..

Her lips were lightly hued a gentle shade of pink.. and her make up was light. As she made her way down the street (just happened to be towards those gathered.. imagine that), the young woman hummed to herself.

[Josie Clark] No scent accompanies the footsteps.

Instead, she rounds the corner, and her own footsteps have slowed since she heard voices. When she rounds the way, she finds herself looking at… well… a couple of people. The female cocks her head tot he side, and it’s not exactly the most human of gestures. It can be, yes, but the way she does so, the angle, the tilt seems more canine than human.

She nods a little, one upward nod and seems more than content to slip on through. Not say anything. Not really… cause any kind of…

Goddamnit, she couldn’t not linger. there were people.

“Hola,” she says.

[Colt Montgomery] ~well if he didnt’ find a place to live soon, he might end up making shelter in a dumpster, but he’d never admit it to Marni~ “Good thing it’s summa time” ~he slid from the top of the dumpster, wiping the back of his jeans as he landed, the thud of those cowboy boots upon the asphalt. he spots the owner of the boots that had been clickin~

“Howdy” ~there was a country twang, and he knew spanish fluently~ “Hola, Como estas”

[Marni] lips curve into a familiar smirk, brief though it may be, strange to him perhaps, who’s not seen her at her best – and it’s almost as if she knows what he’s thinking… if ony for a moment.

THen, her attention is on Josie, as she inhales slowly – there is no scent, and there is Spanish. She falls quiet, Marni, and listens.

[Mila Davis] The sounds of voices ahead drew her attention. There were several.. Mila became a little more curious and drew closer.

[Josie Clark] “Esta bien,” she says. Her lips are full, and when she smiles she’s got a lot of very white teeth. She laughs

“That’s all I got, sorry, my Spanish blows.”

She looks at them. Both of them. There’s legs attached to those boots, and a lot of other things, actually, but that’s neither here nor there. let’s not think of what’s attached to Josie Clark aside from Fenrir breeding and a nonregional accent.

“Don’t stop talking on my account. I’m just passing through.”

[Colt Montgomery] ~those hazel eyes fell on her, bottom to top as the case seemed to be, it was those hooker boots, didn’t quite seem the place to wear them, and that breeding that smacked him across the face~ “That’s to bad, I was thinkin I might get to practice my espanol” ~he’d stick to english~

~he looked between Josie and Marni, as he was the new kid on the block, he figured they knew each other~

[Marni] She doesn’t hop down, but when Colt looks at her, she shrugs a shoulder slightly. She don’t know josie. Another new one, it seems. They do like to pop up all over.

“I’m Marni. S’Colt. And yer new…”

Hi, captian obvious.

[Mila Davis] Speaking of pop-ing up. . . Mila rounded the corner and finally stood within clear ear-shot of the grouping. One, she recognized. The cowboy hat was a giveaway. She only knew one of those.

She smirked.. no.. smiled lightly to herself. Once the introductions between the current trio were done, she’d step in..

[Colt Montgomery] ~he chuckled, his thumb and index finger brushed across the soul patch as Marni made the introductions, he waited for the young fenrir blooded one to speak, he felt the others presence, he turned, hazel eyes upon Mila, he tipped his hat~ “Evenin Mila”

[Josie Clark] “Josie,” she says. She offers her hand, because it’s what you’re supposed to do. She makes eyecontact- direct. Jocelyn either knows it’s a bad idea or she doesn’t, but knowing doesn’t matter. She does it anyway.

“And what are you fine people doing out here in this alley?”

She stopped, and heard someone say something… to…
she looks at Mila and her jaw drops.

“Holy shit, you’re Mila Davis.”

Someone has a fan!

[Marni] Fine people. In an alley.

Marni just smirks, slightly. “Drinkin coffee.” And then her dark eyes fall on Mila, briefly, then back again.

[Colt Montgomery] ~he had just enough time to take her hand, his shake wasn’t over powering, just a normal greeting, his hands full of caullouses, telling tales of a hard worker, from bull riding to ropin steer, though she wouldn’t know that~ “Pleased to meet ya Josie” ~he didn’t seem to mind the eye contact, watching as the girl got all gushy over Mila~

[Mila Davis] “Evening Colt..” Her reponse was plesant, obviously she wasn’t unahppy to see him. He was actually a Get she could stand.. and that was amazing.

Eyes the color of approaching storm-clouds shifted over towards the excited woman. And she smiled even more in response. “Yeah.. I am.” She even offered out a slender hand as she took a few steps foward. “What’s your name?”

Yup, tonight.. the Shadow Lord looked like she could pass for a country singer. She didn’t even look like she might want to stomp some ass tonight. . but a drink, that she could go for.

[Josie Clark] he shook Colt’s hand, and hers was… decidedly feminine. Solid construction, but a narrow bone structure. Her hands aren’t too large. She’s not too strong, but she is firm. The female looks at Mila, and takes her hand.

She blinks once, then twice. Like she can’t believe her eyes. She takes her hand and gives it a shake. Not overeager, but she does have to exert herself to not go all rabid fangirl.

“Josie Clark,” she said, “your last CD was kickass.”

[Colt Montgomery] ~he turned and gave an upnod to Mila, watching her number one fan, those hazel eyes revert to Marni~ “Ya, still up for surfin…. or ya scared?” ~he pulled his hat off and wiggled his brows, those dark curls were messy, and he set the hat back down quickly~

[Marni] She remains where she’s perched on the dumpster, and watches, quietly. Then Colt asks if she’s scared, and she snorts, and grits her teeth, and hops off the dumpster, the move pulling her wounds apart under the bandages, staining the air with the scent of fresh blood.

“I ain’t ever scared.” Her chin lifts – and finally, that little playful smirk comes back… just a little.

[Mila Davis] “Nice to meet you Josie.. always a pleasure to meet people who appreciate the music. I live in Chicago now, so there will be some local shows every now and again.” Eh maybe.. it depended on a few things: one.. if the war doesn’t kill her.. or two, if the war doesn’t take all of her dang time.

“You friends with Colt here? He’s a pretty nice guy.. even if he comes from a crooked branch of the family tree..” She grinned, playfully. Yes, it was a jab at the Get – but.. a light hearted one.

[Colt Montgomery] ~he learned quick how to get Marni back to slide into her natural demeanor, it was nice to see how she normally ran~ “that’s what I like to hear, cuz I ain’t got no time for cowards” ~a quick week, he turned on his heels when he heard Mila speak of him and his kind~

“Don’t let the get up fool ya” ~he smirked at the shadowlord, he brushed over the soul patch with his thumb~ “At least we got something in common, country music” ~now Josie didn’t look like she listened to country, but maybe she was starstruck by Mila~

[Colt Montgomery] ((week = wink … my typing is bad))
to Josie Clark, Marni, Mila Davis, Spirits

[Josie Clark] “We just met. Apparently, you meet more interesting people in alleyways than you do anywhere else in the city. I think I might have to start hanging out here instead of in, you know, parks or bars. It’s cheaper, that’s for damned sure.”

She has to laugh at it.

[Marni] Snorts. “Ain’t never one of mine been a coward. And don’t you forget it.”

He’s found her pushbutton, sure enough, and though she stands in the scent of her own blood, she stands strong.

[Mila Davis] “I was just walking by, thought I heard his voice – figured I’d see if he was gettin himself in trouble. But, I would agree.. ” she paused and glanced back towards the street. “Much cheaper hangin out here. Maybe a little safer on this side of town – I wouldn’t recommend it near the projects though.”

[Marni] Mila wouldn’t recommend it near the projects, and that causes Marni to roll her eyes. Speaking of bein’ chicken…

[Colt Montgomery] ~it looked like the kin was enthrawled with Mila, he took a step towards Marni, he hadn’t planned on pushing her buttons in such a way, but he did have an intolerance for cowards, but she had been the one that offered the high, and asked if he was scared~ “Ain’t forgettin nothin, I know how ya ride”

~he preferred the fancy places to the allies, but couldn’t help but chuckle at Mila’s comment, oh and yes he caught that eye roll, he touched Marni’s shoulder~ “how long ya gonna let that go?” ~the smell of blood again haunts him~

[Josie Clark] “Who runs in the projects?”

May as well ask. Because that was the heart of the issue. Why she was running around in alleyways in the first place. she didn’t smell like anything, but she looked, hinted at a frozen north and legendary rage. Like devious, dark moons and Gaia’s wrath. No rage, though. No connection to Gaia, just Fenris blood and the scent of running water.

“A girl has to know these things.”

A beat.

“any of you guys know?”

[Marni] He touches her shoulder, and she looks up at him, and her dark eyes hold a bit more life than before, a hint of what she is in her prime, when she’s not mourning the loss of her sister, her friend, her pack. She touches her bandages, and lips curl into a lopsided smirk. “It’ll heal.”

Eventually. She has no pack, no theurge, no talens. She has only herself. That will have to be enough. After all, it’s all she has left. “Won’t stop me surfin, if that’s what yer worried about.”

[Mila Davis] Well, this version of Mila.. the sweet one, wouldn’t fit in in the projects very well. Plus, she kinda hated bugs – and there were tons of bugs in those buildings, and that just wasn’t sanitary. A brow rose, and she gave Josie a curious look. Perhaps she was trying to determine if she was actually family, or not. The lack of scent was throwing her off, even in this form.

Finally, it seemed as if she’d figured things out and she spoke up. “I don’t know – but then again, I haven’t been around long. As far as I can tell, no one group tends to claim any certain area. Unless you meant which gangs.. in that case.. MS 13?”

[Colt Montgomery] ~the lip curl, the smirk, it was life, she’d be back stronger than ever, she needed the time, he had nothing to offer in her healing!~ “Oh i wasn’t worried darlin, yer gonna show me how, I’m thinkin these boots were made for walkin, not surfin”

~he had nothing to offer on the talk of the projects and who ran em, he didn’t know, that was BG knowledge probably, but he didn’t offer up his new friend~ “Stay away from the Disciples in Bronzeville… but the elder Fenrir resides in the Junkyard there, or so it’s been told”

[Colt Montgomery] ((Mila wants bugs LOL))
to Marni

[Marni] She lifts her chin slightly. She’s gonna show him how, and that look somehow says he’d better hope he can keep up. Even wounded as she is, she’s a hella surfer.

AS for the projects. “Elder Fenrir lives in the Green – he ain’t Joe. Decker Silence Rohl lives in the Green. Joe’s just th’ stand in Jarl until someone takes it away from the raciest asshole. He an’ his think they’s the shit, and hold part of Bronzeville, but not near the whole thing.”

As for the bugs. Well. She’s a Gnawer. Bugs are the least of her worries.

[Marni] (Maybe Marni should scent of sweet honey her. hee. that’ll bring the bugs! *L*)
to Colt Montgomery

[Mila Davis] Eh.. why is the talk always about the Get? God.. there were too many of them around here. Her gaze shifted over towards Marni – she offered the woman a smile as she tried to work out if she looked like one of them too..

Mila stepped foward, closer to Colt. “You get your meetin’s taken care of? And, ya’ll found some place to stay?”

[Josie Clark] “Okay… so, hold up a minute… exactly how many Fenrir are in this city? Because I haven’t been here for more than twenty for hours and I have, no joke, met two. That’s pretty intense.”

[Mila Davis] “A shit-load..” Her reponse was muttered.

[Colt Montgomery] !oh he intended on keeping up, or bleedin on the side of the track~ “Someone wanna take me on as a project?”

~he quirked a brow to the statement~ “Kora told me that Joe War hand….” ~oh well~ “Was the jarl and elder” ~he’d done that introduction, and hadn’t met this Decker Silence Rohl~

“I did meet up with Joe, and I’m still huntin for a place to hang my hat” ~he said to Mila~

[Marni] She shrugs. “Nine, ten. Who keeps track? Lost a good one recent though.” She snorts. “as for Joe – maybe he is now. Kemp was. He died up in the raid in the Hills. But he ain’t elder. He’s a fuckin pigheaded cliath with an attitude.”

She shrugs slightly. “Not that it’s any skin off my back. Don’t care who leads’em, long as they ain’t tellin me they’re better just cuz I hole up in a box. Not my fault they need comfy beds and room service, now is it…”

A lil jab for Cole there – but said with an amused smirk. She’s working her way back. Next time they meet, she might well be her normal incorrigible self. Maybe.

[Colt Montgomery] marni is awesome LOL
to Marni

[Marni] (Glad ya think so. Wait till ya see her in full marni form. She’s mourning still, but give her a week or two and Colt won’t know what hit him. *L*)
to Colt Montgomery

[Josie Clark] (skip me, loves, I need food)

[Mila Davis] “I’ve only been here a few weeks.. I personally have met.. five. Ah, that reminds me. When you met with Joe, Colt – you tell him I said hi?” She smirked.

[Colt Montgomery] ~that jab got a cackle, his smile was wide~ “Ya not yer fault, I mean cold concrete or a pile of hay is just as comfy as a down pillow bed, right Mila?” ~he smirked~ “Yah, I did meet him Mila.. I don’t think he’s fond of ya” ~not sure why not, maybe all the markers that said if ya ain’t Fenrir, Get da fuck out~ “Oh, Mila, before i forget, ya got tickets for me for the next show?”

“Anyhow, Marni is gonna teach me the art of train surfin or somethin” ~he rocked toe to heel~

[Marni] “If ya cuddle the right Gnawer, ain’t fuckin cold at all.”

[Mila Davis] “Yeah.. not sure why he dislikes me so.. but, eh, that’s just Get bein’ Get, I suppose. No offense Colt – you seem nice enough.” His next comment got a little laugh outta her. “Tickets? Dude.. I play at bars around here. There are no tickets. I might be able to reserve ya’ll a front row table or something.” She shrugged.

“Train surfing? Sounds.. interesting..”

[Colt Montgomery] ~this Fenrir wasn’t about to cuddle no one on the concrete, less it was his dying sista and it was the only thing that was gonna save her life~ “How bout if ya cuddle the right GW? I mean thems city boys like yerself”

~he grins at Mila~ “oh I’m a white knight i suppose” ~hell he wasn’t close, but it’s what was on the outside that was seen~ “Just call me Bo or Luke Duke” ~he chuckled, naw those guys were dumb as dirt~ “ya mean ya ain’tn got some big gig comin up… Hey front roll VIP ain’t bad. When is that concert”

[Marni] She snorts. “they all about computers n shit. They need their creature comforts. Tellin ya, short n stacked gnawer cuddlin, s’where it’s at.”

As for train surfin sounding interesting, she just chuckles, a brow lifting challengingly.

[Colt Montgomery] ~he was starin at Marni…..why everyone gotta be short and stacked, he was six foot three and that in itself seemed to keep the lookers at bay~ “Does that mean ya got one of those shorties waitin in the dumpster down the alley?

~he eyed Mila~ “Ya don’t look like the surfin type..”

[Marni] She sticks her tongue out at Colt. “No it means i AM one of those shorties waitin in alleys…” Boys. They sure is dumb sometimes….

[Mila Davis] “Eh.. I don’t know there, Bubba. I’ll give ya a hollar when the details are figured out though.” He gave her permission to call him a stereotypical country name.. she was gonna run with it.

“Tell ya what – you give it a try first.. and let me know how it goes – then.. maybe I might give it a shot.” But no, really.. doesn’t sound that fun to her. Her phone vibrated in her purse and Mila spent a moment digging for it.. and then reading the message. “See ya later guys – I got some stuff I need to take care of tonight. I’ll see ya around though.. Colt.. Josie.. ” Marni, since she didn’t catch her name.. just got a nod.

[Mila Davis] Soon enough, Mila had disappeared from the alley and around the corner. ((Must depart, thank you for the play!))

[Colt Montgomery] ~he nods~ “Have a good evenin Mila” ~he waved as she headed off~

“Oh, yer one of the shorties….” ~he hadn’t gotten it… it totally went over his head at first~ “So ya got all the lovin in the alley?” ~didn’t sound so great to him~ “I’m sure ain’t no one gonna mess wit ya in the dumpster” ~he winked, yeah the rotogar were more his type to hang with, they kept him calm and even tempered~

[Marni] She nudges him with her shoulder and grunts with the impact. “I like a good cuddle, s’all Im’ sayin. Ain’t much concerned with who I get it from neither. Ain’t like I said ‘let’s fuck in that there dumpster’ now is it.” She winks up at him, and then nods toward the mouth of the alley.

“You ready – or ya scared?”

[Colt Montgomery] ~the nudge rocked him back on his heels, two hands raised up near his ears, that smile was wide as the nile was dry~ “Naw, I didn’t hear nothin like that” ~he was laughin, it was a good thing, they seemed to hit it off, nothin like those no moons, no matter what tribe they were~

“Girl I was born ready” ~he was right beside her, up for any challenge, even if it meant going bareback, or foot~

[Josie Clark] She had been quiet for some time, and the female gives a nod and half a salute.

“Take care of yourselves, thanks,” she says. She grins, and continues on her way out of the alley

[Marni] “Alright then.” Josie… had been silent and she’s given a wave and an invite along, but then Marni’s not waiting any longer and when she opts out, she just waves. She heads out the alley and down the block to the nearest El crossing.

“Thing ya gotta remember is your timing – first we’re gonna have to get to the roof, and then time ya jump just before the train takes off again from the stop. They stop for two minutes. An’ the guard on this one? Been tryin to get his hands on me for months. So once ya up there – ya gotta fuckin commit. Go big, or go home.”

And with that, aggrivated wounds seeping into her bandages, she breaks into a jog, hearing the train nearing the station. They’ve five minutes, tops, to get into position…

[Colt Montgomery] ~he waved at the kin~ “See ya”

~looked to the rotogar~ “Darlin, I’m from Texas, everything’s big in texas, my head, my personality, my ego” ~he broke into a trot right along with her, he’d follow her, she knew the way, and he was on his A game, those boots he was used to runnin in, his hat seemed to stick like glue to his head, hell he’d been bungee jumpin once and his hat stayed on, cowboy trick? maybe

he thought about his timing and all that went with it, he was eager for a thrill~

[Josie Clark] [thanks for the play, loves!{

[Colt Montgomery] ((hopes i get a healer in my pack someday))
to Marni

[Marni] She just grins, and then leads him up the steps to the station platform at a full run – then making sure he’s watching – and the guard she knows isn’t – she slides to the left, and in a jump, hits the handrail, pops upwards, grabs the roof and with a swing is on the roof. It’s almost graceful, even with the injuries – makes one wonder what she’s like a full health, don’t it?

Once she’s on the roof, she pauses a moment to catch her breath, her arms wrapped tight around her belly, pain filtering through her gaze as she takes a breath, nice and slow, watching to see that Colt makes it up at her side.

[Colt Montgomery] ~he slowed down cuz he wanted to be sure he’d gotten a chance to see what the hell the girl was gonna do, and well she did it, how, he saw it withi his own two eyes, she looked like an old pro, he’ll the boy had no grace, in fact, he was sure everyone was gonna see the tall ass cowboy make that jump, and oh well if they did, if they heard the loud thud that he was sure to make

Those long legs one foot on the handrail, as he jumps, grabs, and he’d pretty much uses his upper body strength to get himself all the way up, looking around as he’s on~ “Damn, darlin… ya made that look to easy…. I guess ya know yer way around the city, and this is cheaper than drivin and findin parkin, I’ll be hitchin some rides”

~he saw the pain as she held herself~ “You okay?”

[Colt Montgomery] ((hope i could make it LOL))
to Marni

[Marni] She watches, and listens as he thuds to the top of the roof, and snorts a little. He’s a bit ungainly – but he’s not as small as she is. And of course she made it look easy. “I make it my business to know.” A wink, and then as he looks down at the way she’s holding herself, she nods, slightly.

“M’fine.” a little lie never hurt anyone, right? Right. And it doesn’t matter, cuz here comes the train, and she’s urging him to follow her as she scoots across the roof, keeping low, until she can perch on the edge of the roof. It’ll be a bit of a jump, but nothing either of them can’t handle.

“Remember…” she murmurs. “two minutes. Don’t jump until my say so, or we’ll get caught. and dn’t fuckin miss. Oh, and don’t get caught up in the wires and cables, or stand up – you’ll be decapitated. Stay behind me – and duck when I do. Ready? Start ya count…”

And she watches as the train rolls in, and starts her count… and when the time is right? She jumps….

[dex+ath diff 6 to make the jump…

for Marni -1 dice for injuries, -1 diff for Daredevil Merit, spending WP not to look like a fool..]
Dice Rolled:[ 5 d10 ] 1, 5, 6, 9, 10 (Success x 4 at target 5) [WP]

[Colt Montgomery] ~no he wasn’t as small as her, and those boots, gave him an extra bit of height he didn’t nearly need, and he didn’t reallly believe her, the smell of blood, the way she held it, she was tough he’d give her that, best characteristic in a friend

she didn’t have to tell him twice to keep his ass low and head down, he wouldn’t be appealling to anyone without a head, either end for that matter, he perched right next to her at the edge of the roof, he loved a challenge~

“Two minutes” ~damn he didn’t have time to set his watch, and hell he was n’t gonna jump til she did, he wasn’t fuckin crazy really, he counts to himself as she starts her count… and when she jumps so does he….~

spending WP to make sure he’s no fool either, cuz we only need one.. and Marni’s wearin the crowne
Dice Rolled:[ 6 d10 ] 2, 3, 6, 8, 9, 9, 10, 10, 10 (Success x 8 at target 6) [WP] Re-rolls: 3

[Marni] (goddamn! *L*)
to Colt Montgomery

[Marni] She makes the jump, her hand finding the right hold automatically – she’s an old pro at this, and it shows. She scoots forward and stays low, finding the perfect spot to spread out, stretching to lay atop the train as the gears start to turn and they start to move. She turns to look, and see’s he’s made the jump with ease, and motions him up next to her, showing him with her hands where to hold on, and to ready himself…

…because here they go….

And when they get to full speed, she lets out a primal yell, one of pure adrinilin and delight as she gets her feet under her, and then lifts to a crouch, leaning into the wind, letting it buffer and whip around her as she does what she promised, and Surf’s atop the Train…

[Colt Montgomery] ~he quickly moved up next to her, watching and learning quick, he had the grabs, laid out as well, this was his first time, and he wouldn’t mind makin a few more of these rides

he had no idea what to expect, the speed, her yell, he was ridin high, he wasn’t really sure how to surf, he let her lead him, he screamed out~ “Surf’s up” ~twangy and country, he was nothin but pure, those big feet helpin him balance, keepin his ass low, nothin like droppin the ass to the ground, lucky for him he had catlike reflexes~

[Colt Montgomery] ((Not bad huh :P))
to Marni

[Marni] Here… here it doesn’t matter that she’s all alone. Here, it doesn’t matter all that she’s lost, because she doesn’t have time to think about it. She only can take the time to judge the movement of the train, the rocking, the shuddering, the way the metal monster moves under their feet.

She gives a scream “DOWN! NOW!” and drops to the top of the car, and flattens as a tunnel appears ahead. If he doesn’t get down fast enough, she grabs him and hauls him down by her side….

And then, after the tunnel is cleared, she taps his shoulder, and points to the stop and screams into his ear. “REMEMBER! TWO MINUTES!”

Countdown till time to disembark…

[Colt Montgomery] ~there wasn’ttime to think, the wind slapping him in the face, the howl as they rode, it was unlike anything he’d done before, and it lasted longer than 8 seconds, when she screamed, he dropped, it was quick, glad that she was there to remind him, tunnels, yah, didn’t want to end up against one, he watches her mouth as she screams out two minutes, how could he forget… slipped his mind, he wondered what number they were on, he shrugged and looked confident enough, but bit down on his lower lip~

[Marni] She grins at him, and then scoots to the side of the train where the station will appear, and braces her foot against a support, to help weather the change in speed, gesturing for him to do the same, and showing him how to hang on, and get ready to move…

The train slows, the wind howls and softens, and then the brakes squeal, and they’re slowing, slowing, slowing…

stopped.

She instantly pulls her feet up under her, counting to herself, as she gestures for him to get ready… hold… hold… hold….

“NOW!”

(Let’s play it again, Sam….)
Dice Rolled:[ 5 d10 ] 3, 4, 6, 9, 10 (Success x 4 at target 5) [WP]

[Colt Montgomery] ~he scooted as well, watching her feet and hands, doing exactly what she was doing, knowing the damn thing was gonna stop and hoped he’d be ready for it, he didnt like the sound of the brakes, his nose wrinkled at the sound

watching, he was on his feet as well, ready and waiting when she screamed Now he was on the make
Dice Rolled:[ 8 d10 ] 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 9, 9, 10 (Success x 4 at target 6) [WP] Re-rolls: 1

[Colt Montgomery] ((I rolled the wrong number))
Dice Rolled:[ 6 d10 ] 2, 3, 3, 7, 8, 9 (Success x 4 at target 6) [WP]

[Marni] She hits the roof of the station with a thud, and sinks to an easy crouch – an old pro at this for sure, and when she’s sure he’s made it behind her, she grins and stands and takes off at a run – the guard at THIS station wants to get his hands on her too. She races toward the end of the roof, and in what looks like a total leap of faith, jumps over the edge, catching the edge of the stairwell roof, swinging in, grabbing a vertical railing, and sliding into the stairwell amid startled yelling of passengers, that alerts the guard…

once her feet hit the stairs, she takes off at a full on run, down the stairs and down the street, figuring it’s solid ground now, he can keep up – even if the whole thing and the rush it provides leaves limbs feeling like jelly and hearts pounding and body quivering with the effort and will spent…

She doesn’t stop until they can duck into an alley, and she’s laughing, even as her arms are wrapped tight around her wounds, bleeding freely now, crimson dotting along the oversized shirt she wears…

[Colt Montgomery] ((damn.. I typed the same thing three times and it keeps eating me…. screams cuz i can’t type it again….

~he comes in behind her into the alley, seeing the blood on her shirt, the adreneline rushing through his veins~ “They should call ya thrilla instead of stikcy fingers….. and you look fucked”

[Colt Montgomery] ((this chat hates me)))

[Marni] She leans back against the wall, and closes her eyes briefly, as she fingers her wounds, grunting a bit, wincing still more, before she simply smiles. And it’s a real smile, it’s a full Marni smile, relaxed and easy.

“It’ll heal.” she says again, and somehow, she means all of it, not just the wounds. She’s still alive, still dangerous, and still Marni.

[Colt Montgomery] ~his breaths deep, he walked up to her smiling large~ “Thank ya Marni, I needed that” ~he nodded, not understanding it all, he knew the wound would heel with time, and if she didn’t get any infections, she was garou, but she wasn’t superwoman, or black cat~ “Yer the life of the party, I know where to go now” ~he smirked, this was the kinda garou he wanted battin for him~ “We should plan another surf trip, and I’ll bring another no moon along… less yer scared”

[Marni] “Me too.” And she did. She probably needed it more than he did, and thinks he probably knows that. She nods, though, and smirks. “I ain’t ever scared.”

She pushes from the wall, and slips her arm around Colt’s waist and hugs him tight, and quick. She did, after all, warn him she’s a cuddlebug. And she ain’t too bad to hug on, neither. “Thanks. I’ll find ya’ll – ain’t got a phone. But I’ll find ya and we’ll surf again.”

And she grins, and slides away from him again, before heading deeper into the alley. “Gonna go get wrapped up again. Watch your back out there.”

[Colt Montgomery] ~he knew she needed it, everything, from the cup of coffee to the idle chit chat, but most of all, he managed to bring something out in her, that release, he knew she wasn’t scared, but he liked that it hyped her up

he was surprised by the hug even though she claimed to be a cuddle but, he gave her a tight squeeze, mindful of her injuries~ “Take it easy, and I’m lookin forward to it” ~he watched her head out of sight, before turning and heading for his truck~
